View Full Version : check for cats under the hood

John Doe
December 28th 07, 02:18 AM
Just in case it hasn't been mentioned this winter.

In the morning, don't forget to give your car hood a pat and then
listen (or however it's done best, other suggestions are welcome).
Cats have been known to find warmth inside of a car engine
compartment. I know a guy that drove to work hearing strange sounds,
but not knowing that a cat was being tortured to death under his
hood until it was much too late.

Good luck and have fun.

Instead of PATTING the hood I would recommend opening it and checking
under it visually. It may take a couple minutes longer but if the cat
is in a tight spot it may not have time to get out between the time
you "PAT' your hood and start the car. I do this when I go to feed my
strays, especially during the cold months!!

Unless maybe you are wearing really thick ear muffs, there might be
a difference between PAT AND LISTEN and PAT AND JUMP INTO THE CAR.

A very good suggestion. We've heard that one several times out here but we
often forget.

When I was a child, we had to check *under* the car, as for some
reason the kittens loved lining up on the rear axle. I wouldn't have
believed it if I hadn't seen it myself, more than once.

You're a NUT. Why not just not go into work? Or better yet, you go via
walking and leave yourt car to your cat...
