View Full Version : Keep the purrs coming for Barney ferret! :o)

September 17th 08, 11:14 AM
Barney saw Mark, who is the senior vet and ferret specialist this
morning. Mark seems to think that Barney has a Duff heart as he's got
a very irregular heart beat and it skips a beat then speeds up and
slows down... So, he's doing a few simple tests and an abdominal tap
to check the fluid in his stomach and then it's likely that I'll have
a ferret on heart tablets with a good quality of life!!

So that makes it a score of... a cat with one eye (HRFL), a cat with
one eye and 1/2 a tail (MLW), A cat on blood pressure and kidney
tablets and tablets for congestive heart problems (Robbie), A cat with
buggered knees (Pandora), a cat who suffers IBD from stress (Cleo), a
horse who is scared of humans (Sophia) and Cara my bald Border Collie
who suffers from a flea allergy... and then there's Riley who is feral
(my ass).

Oh for a normal animal, LOL!!

Please keep the purrs coming for Barney - they are working!

That's great :-) At least insofar as a heart defect can be great.....but
there's hope for him now.
So, more animals to give medicine to. I can't remember the last time I
didn't have to give medicine to one or more animals every day, but it's
worth it.

Ya know, sometimes people call my family of misfits. Someone has to collect
them, be it human or animal friends. Glad they have you to worry about
them.

Bet they are all a lot of fun and well worth the extra doing it takes to
keep them going.

Wow, you seem to be running a veterinary practice!

I'm really glad that Barney has gotten a reprieve. Hooray for Mark! Purrs
for the heart meds to work well.

Purrs still coming for Barney, and the rest of the critters as well.
And a HUG for you

The Fairfax Fur Factory will keep the purrs going for everything
to come out right! Glad to hear it wasn't what was originally
thought!

The rest of your fur kids couldn't be in better hands, and Riley
is obviously smart enough to know just how on his feet he's
landed...:)

Purrs and ongoing good thoughts!

I still have this theory that when Helen came in and sat down and said
"Riley. It's official, I've signed the paperwork you are now staying
here permanently- you're now part of the clowder"

Riley thought "You mean I get to stay here?! After all the bad things
that happened to me! You want me to stay forever in this forever home!
You're keeping me even through I have been a bit stroppy since I got
here- I was just afraid this was only a respite and bad things would
be happening to me again soon! You mean I'VE GOT A FOREVER HOME!"

And that's when he started to lick the baby food off Helen's
hand .......

<chuckle>....either that or the mothership (or one
of our Rainbow Bridge fur kids) whispered in Riley's
furry little ear....

Either way, how much better an outcome could there be? :)
