How genteel is this? by [email protected]
This morning I was doing some tidying up in the bedroom when I heard the most bizarre noise, it was a howl of such anguish for a second I thought one of the cats had seriously hurt themselves or was dying. When I got off the ceiling I heard it again. I ran into the living room only to find Dave...

My friend June had burglars by Christina Websell
Last Friday. They didn't harm any of her very old dogs in the house, they just stole her laptop. They didn't steal her puppies either and locked the gate behind them so her dogs didn't get out. I guess that's the best burglars we can wish for. Tweed

Scratched! by jmcquown[_2_]
Persia didn't mean to do it. She jumped up on the arm of the sofa. Well, she was attempting to. She made a slight miscalculation. She landed awkwardly, missed her mark. She extended her back claws to get traction, digging into my shoulder. They're just scratches, not puncture wounds. But...

The cannabis farm (OT) by Christina Websell
In my village is no more. Although I told my friend I'd like to try it just once and she said she'd get me some (just the once) she didn't. Best not to really. I suspect she hoped it was a silly idea, which it was. I love this new transgender friend. She is absolutely great. We get on very...

Shamrock is giving Sammy a hard time by Cheryl[_3_]
Shamrock has Sammy "trained" to be fearful of him somehow. Shamrock hates for me to give attention to anyone, but he doesn't have a problem with Scarlett and Rhett getting attention. He still interferes when I try to comb Bonnie, and now he's treating Sammy the same way. Sammy has actually...

Mr F, my car by Christina Websell
well he failed his MoT test today :-( Everyone in the Uk has to have this test done yearly if their car is over three years old. Mr F rarely fails except for minor things, but today he did it in a spectacular fashion. He needs some welding on his inner wings, those things under the boot (hood)...

ACK! by Mark Edwards
ACK! I typically let the cats have a sniff of whatever I have. Tonight, Apache was in my lap, and looked up at my mug of beer. So I said, 'Why not?' and held it down to her level to have a sniff. Suddenly, a gnat flew down into the mug, and she slapped at it, flinging foam and beer everywhere,...

New food by Christina Websell
I'm trying Boyfie on Butcher's Classic tins. It might be better than Whiskas and he likes it. Today he does, anyway. It has a lot more meat in than is normally claimed for his pouches and no gluten and no sugar. I might keep him on it depending whether it upsets his tummy.

NY Man Marries His Dog by Craig Chilton
BUFFALO, NY—At 2:00 P.M. yesterday afternoon, Harold Bateman, 46, was seen outside a Western New York courthouse with a spritely, 2-year-old Border Collie named Gingy. After a couple hours of loitering, staff came out to greet him and inquire as to why he was standing outside the...

I thought Boyfie was iill by Christina Websell
He came in from the garden at lunchtime and soon went up to bed. He didn't get up for his important 3.45 teatime. All became clear when I opened the kitchen door later and saw part of a collared dove wing on the doormat. He'd eaten the whole bird, beak, feet, feathers and all! So no more food...

Do Cat's Voices Change as They Age? by jmcquown[_2_]
Persia is probably 15 years old now. And her voice has changed. When she first came to live with me the vet guessed she was half Siamese, half Russian Blue. So she's always been rather vocal and sometimes her voice was a *little* raspy. Lately her voice is raspier than ever. Less prolonged,...

Bg dead rat by Christina Websell
Still here. I though the foxes would have had it by now. I'll have to dispose of it soon. Bet now:. 1. I will put the dead rat in the trash bin. 2. I got fed up with what the neighbours did and will throw it over into their garden Tweed
