Sad Vet Trip by Shiral
No, not the ULTIMATE sad vet trip, quite yet. But I took Pan in for a follow up vet visit today, and while Pan's thyroid is normal, Dr. Mell believes his kidneys are going. There is very little he can do, and that would only delay the inevitable. When you're an eighteen year-old cat, you're an...

Cruising Cats: Mar. 29, 2006 by Annie Wxill
Wednesday, March 29, 2006 This morning we rescued a toad. It was trying unsuccessfully to climb up the bulkhead and get out of the water. We used the net we brought in case Rosie or Cinder go into the water. It worked fine for the toad. We hope we never have to use it for a cat rescue.

[OT] More Katrina Recovery Pictures by CatNipped
Erin just sent me these (via snail-mail since they won't have cable for a loooooong time yet). It's been 7 months and 3 days since the storm, and most people along the Gulf Coast are still homeless. My daughter is one of the lucky ones (as well as being very handy and industrious) since all...

Teenagers by Bill Stock
I was having a fitful nights sleep with Smokey at my side (as always) and Miss Cleo roaming around from spot to spot and bring me her toys (WUWTA). At one point I was laying on my side beside Smokey and Cleo was lying on my Bicep. Miss Cleo stretches out her paw and sits there for a few...

Maybe They Should have Studied Purrs by CatNipped
Yep, they should have studied purrs - they seem to work amazingly well. I'd rather have this group purr for me than have a church group pray for me. -- Hugs, CatNipped

I captured a feral tom in my house last night by 223rem
I keep a ground floor window open at all times for my cats to get in and out as they please. In the last several months, a feral tom has been getting into the house through that window at night, and the sounds of him fighting my cats used to wake me up 2 or 3 times a week around 3 am. I would...

Molly is smarter than I realized by Jo Firey
Molly, our little ex-feral calico girl is smarter than I've been giving her credit for. Much to my surprise she not only tolerates the pup Kayla, but she even seems to kinda sorta like her. Tonight she reached a new high (or low depending on your point of view) in teasing Kayla. Kayla had...

Cat Cottage by Fat Freddy
I got my cats a Cat Cottage from Foster and Smith for about $25. It's basically just a big carbboard box with 4 levels with holes so they can climb from floor to floor. It also has openings in the sides for doors and windows that they can go in and out or reach through and play. They race around...

Please wish us luck....! by Helen Miles
Please could my company, Dark Tiger, have some good luck purrs? As you may know, I've been setting up a Production Company for a while. We currently have a few *major* plans in the pipeline, and this week is *crunch* time for 3 main projects we've been working on (for what seems like forever,...

strange behavior by John F. Eldredge
Cinders has a habit of repeatedly opening and closing her mouth while inhaling, making a suck-suck-suck-suck sound. Is this simply the behavior called flehmening, or is this indicative of some sort of problem, such as a dental problem? I haven't seen any other cat do this particular...

[OT] pictures of clouded leopards by John F. Eldredge
I have just posted a message in alt.pictures.binaries.animals, titled "clouded leopards at Nashville, Tennessee zoo". Due to its large size, the message actually posted as several parts, but will be recombined when you read it. These are beautiful cats, with ring patterns on their sides that give...

Tornado Safety purrs by Pat
My greatest fear is tornados that strike in the night when I'm asleep, but I am too tired to stay awake any longer tonight and don't want to sleep in the dank basement which I have so far not had time to clean. Would appreciate some purrs to keep me & the owners safe tonight.

Prayers for a cat attacked by a dog by Mishi
Some *&%^%^&*&^ teenagers thought it would be fun to sick their dog on a cat, and videotape it. Little Pr*cks! The cat was killed. :( Charges are pending against the little b*st*rds. There is a bit more about it on this website: http://wwnytv.net/72k/full-story.asp?uid=10642&area=home+page Be...
