DA WEDWINK BEGINZ!!!! by Mlle. Anas ^..^
The sun has set over the tops of the pyramids, and a cool evening breeze whisks away the heat of the day. The moon rises and elongated shadows of palms stripe the sand of the desert; the three great pyramids are outlined against the moonlight sky and stand as silent sentinels. Silently, a large,...

Harri Roadcat update for Friday, June 24 by Dan M
Harri's chest tubes are still draining a lot of liquid, so she's not ready to come yet yet. She'll be at the vet at least through the weekend. They haven't yet identified the microorganism causing the infection, but the culture is growing so they should be able to make that identification...

Harri update #4: still hopeful by Dan M
The vet got the lab results back on the fluid he drained from Harri's chest. It does NOT indicate rat poison as he first thought, rather it indicates a massive infection. Harri is back on massive antobiotics and the vet will be operating this afternoon to implant chest tubes. Her chest will have to...

I want to thank all of you, human and feline alike, for your job purrs. I haven't found anything yet, but I have achieved a goal I set for myself, going on what averages out to be an interview a day since I lost my job almost two weeks ago. Also, the COBRA paperwork is in the mail, so my...

Harri Roadcat update #3: still more reason to hope by Dan M
Just got off the phone with Nancy, who just got off the phone with the vet. Harri is still breathing easily, and the fluid has not reached a danger level again yet. I didn't hear a definitive answer as to the makeup of the fluid that was on Harri's chest - I didn't tell Nancy that we definitely...

Harri Roadcat updagte #2 - reason to hope! by Dan M
Sorry to keep everybody waiting, but we just got home. We spent several hours at the specialist, and just now got home (8 PM). The specialist determined that Harri had a lot of fluid in her chest. He drained it, finding 103 ml of liquid (quite a lot to be inside a little kitten's chest). The...

Harry Roadcat update - it's looking grim by Dan M
I finally got to talk to the vet about 45 minutes ago. Harri did survive te night, and she is breathing more easily thanks to massive doses of antibiotics and steroids. However, the x-rays show that both of her lungs are partially collapsed. The vet has no idea what would have caused this, and he...
