FIV Cat Advice Please by
Simon Bar Sinister
Hello…. I have a cat situation that has arisen… I live in a rural area
of NJ. We have a lot of woods and animals that run around (Groundhogs
Deer etc...) My wife and I are both animal lovers and we own 2 pure
bred Ragdoll Cats. They are strictly indoor cats. They are treated
like the king and...

Frontline by
[email protected]
A few days ago I bought some Frontline for my 3 cats and put it on (the
cats). Here it is 4 days later and if I push a flea comb through the fur
of any of them, I come up with several live fleas each time. Even at the
area where the Frontline was applied there are living fleas.
Is this what can...

Weight Problem by
Dean Rheault
OK here is the deal. We have three cats. Two males and a female. One male
is overweight, the other male is large but ok and the female is the smallest
of the bunch. We have to put the biggest male on a diet. Normally we just
have dry food out for them all day. Dry is all they get. Now we...

Which cat is more likely to pee on our blanket? by
Betty
Hi all,
I've posted a few messages here, and I must say that I've been very
happy with all of the help I've received in the past. So, here goes!
We have one male cat who is about 20 months old. We've had no
problems with Pico whatsoever; no peeing and no pooping outside of his
litter box.
Last...

Advice please? by
Dooies B.B
Sorry to cross post but I have a bit of a dilema.
My cat is now 15 and a half, and although she still eats, drinks, toilets,
and sleeps, she does little else. I know she has some discomfort from her
lower back, and probably kidney problems. Other than that and her increased
laziness she seems...

Keeping kitty away from stereo? by
Al Puzzuoli
I have a two year old cat, and I just purchased a new stereo and
entertainment center for my living room. My cat is quite well behaved
around the house but the stereo and speakers are new to him so of course
must be checked out, and the entertainment center is a great new toy to
climb on in his...

@#*%)^@ Cats! by

You can't just leash a cat into your yard like a dog.
Though the greater part of me laments the days when every neighborhood had
dogs & children & cats & chickens running loose without fences or
supervision or cages or leashes, short of cutting back the human
population by...

Help? Cat is hiding, may be overheated by
Peter Meilinger
Last night when I got home from work I saw the cat for just
a second before she ducked into the room where we keep the
litterbox. She hid under the bed.
Okay, says I, no big problem. But when it came time to go
to bed, my girlfriend and I realized we hadn't seen the
cat all night. I went looking...

Older cats and arthritis by
Brian & Gina Bradtke
Hi all:
I have a 16 year old Siamese (Captain). He recently became very lethargic
(more than usual) and stopped eating and drinking and became severly
dehydrated. Took him to the Vet. She took x-rays and found he had a very
small fracture in his spine and some veterbrae were tearing away due...

Tapozole dose increase? by
[email protected]
Last summer my 13 year old cat, Sparky, began taking tapozole for
hyperthyroidism. Until a couple weeks ago he was doing fine. He had even
gained a pound or two,
Now he seems to be losing weight again. Appetite is about the same.
Is it ever necessary to increase the dose of tapozole? I wouldn't...

Creative exercise ideas by
Purplecat
Anyone got any good ideas/suggestions about how to exercise an overweight,
relatively inactive cat? It's time to knuckle down and get our recently
adopted 3 year old cat fit. She has supervised outings outside and I play
with her when I can but she's not always all that motivated to move far...

Excessive scratching near right ear/eye by
Daave
Our 16-year-old cat Tigger is scratching herself under her right ear to
the point of exposing the skin completely, and it's raw and often
bloody. She's been doing this for about five months.
We've taken her to the vet a couple times. The vet suspected that it was
related to her thyroid level being...
