Recycled car tire rubber for climbing material by
John Doe[_2_]
We been using recycled car tire rubber 1/4 inch thick mat since March
2015. It works very well for climbing and it doesn't shed onto the
floor.
It was cut in strips and hot melt glued to 1x4s with about 1/2 inch
hanging over each side.
They have some trouble climbing down, like cats do on...

Oops..I lost my temper dammit by
mystro
I'm a new first time cat owner who adopted a nice 1 year old male who
for the most part is very happy and contented but certainly likes to
push the limits. Not knowing better,I allowed the cat to roam mostly
wherever it wanted when it first came home but now he
wants to get in the way in the...

Old George and Raw Food by
[email protected]
snip questions about raw
Feeding a raw diet entails much more than giving your cat a chicken
thigh. Raw meat alone is not a balanced diet for a cat and can result in
serious deficiencies which in turn can be harmful or deadly. Before
attempting to feed such a diet you need to do some serious...

Picking a new vet by
Warren O
Hi,
I've never had to look for a veterinarian. Now that our Georgia has CRF,
we would like to find one closer to us, possibly one that has weekend
hours, too.
What questions do you ask when looking for a vet, or is it all trial and
error? Word of mouth would be a good place to start, but most of...

3 kittens born - help by
Calvin Rice
This is about the cat in the threads, 'fearful mother-to-be'
and 'is cat really pregnant'.
I just checked on the cat and there were three black kittens,
with the mother in the place I had prepared for them in the
closet. The kittens were groping around squealing and the
mother was in her usual...

Conan Update (A Happy & Healthy Kitty!) by
cmtowle
Hello all,
First off, I am really happy to be able to report that Conan is in very nice
feline-friendly, although temporary, surroundings. He is with people who are
very caring and knowledgeable cat-lovers. He was switched to a premium
canned diet and already looks a lot better than he did on...

Pet Smart kittens & cats? by
Sheelagh >o
I have noticed over several months that many of our American friends
are
involved in Petsmart adoption days @ Petsmart. Would I be right in
assuming
that rescue dogs & cats are available for adoption on Saturdays &
Sundays?
How does this work? Does it mean that each shelter gets the chance to
put...

Making dry food look/smell/taste like wet food by
Ray Ban
I'm posting on behalf of a neighbor who's training her cat to eat
canned food instead of dry food. She simply won't touch canned food, I
mean the cat not my neighbor. The cat hasn't eaten anything in 3 days
-- meows a lot! My neighbor tried mixing dry & canned, but the cat
would simply eat whatever...

Kitty likes to jump on the counter by
Pamela
I've owned my cat for three months now. Before, he was simply too young to
reach the kitchen countertop, so he'd clamber up on shelves every once in a
while. Now he's a bit older and more agile, so my husband and I catch him
up there quite frequently. I don't approve of this behavior as it is...

tap water & bottle spring water by
NMR
First when was the last vet check you may need to rule out a urinary tract
infection.
IMO it is more healthier for him to drink tap water. If it was unhealthy a
person would not be able to drink it. There are so many reports of people
only drink bottle water and the tooth decay is higher in...

Friends for 2 years now enemies! by
Ross Irvine
Hello,
I have a problem and needs some advice.
I have two Abyssinian's, one about 6 months older than the other. The
older is a male, the younger a female (both de-sexed). We've had both
from kittens.
These two have been best of friends of 2 years, playing together,
sleeping together, meow for...

Sub-Q fluids made cat sluggish by
MJ
This whole situation is in the past, but I'm still looking for
answers.
I'm interested in knowing why giving a 12 y/o, indoor only cat 100 mL
of Sub-Q fluids twice a week would cause him to become sluggish and
stop playing (his playing involved running around the house). About a
month prior, all...

Took in a sick cat... by
Brigitte
Hi Group,
Hope you can give me some advice. About a month ago I took in a cat that
had once belonged to someone I know. She had pretty-much stopped caring for
the cat. I felt bad and took the cat into my care.
When I got the cat she was very thin and had an abscess on her behind. It
is near...

this sick person/people are caught. The cats have been found cut in half with

Well, I have a feeling I really can't do much to help, but just in case...
We are gradually taming and catching a feral cat colony in our backyard.
Our latest "catch" is almost two years old and only warmed up to us just
recently. She had a litter of kittens last July, only two of which we
ever...
