In memory of a friend. by
Bill Graham
I am very sorry to have to report that my favorite cat, "B-K" that I picked
up as a yearling in a Burger King parking lot on the day before Thanksgiving
in 2004, passed away last night at 11 PM. He died of liver failure from
something poisonous that he ingested, probably last Tuesday. Cats keep...

I Lost Tony by
CYBERFLOYD
He was only 11 months old. A major organ was involved and little could be done
but everything was tried. There was something about him that always seemed not
long for this world in spite of the fact that he appeared quite happy and
healthy until a few weeks ago. I lost another 13 year old cat at...

Another benefit of Astroturf... by
John Doe
Cats enjoy clawing on it. Apparently does not hurt the Astroturf,
yet. So it gives them good clawing exercise. My indoor cats have been
doing it for many months. Just noticed the outside (neutered) cat
claw on some Astroturf that's on the porch. They are attracted to it
for that purpose.

Feeding cats Sushi? by
Brian Link
I've been reading the benefits of feeding cats real meat (which makes
sense, since they're not as omnivorous as dogs). It occured to me that
perhaps a nice treat for our cats would be a little chunk of salmon or
tuna bought at our local Sushi bar.
Are there any considerations I should use in...

Selective Cat by
The Mrs
I have a female calico that hates my husband! She loves me. She
enjoys cuddling with me and my oldest daughter. However, she is not
fond of my youngest and hates my husband. We adopted her and her
brother as kittens. They were from a feral mom. The male is fine for
the most part. He is...

Questions About Black Cats, Genetics and Feral Cats by
mc
We currently have two house cats that have no specific lineage... they
are just your ordinary run of the mill mongrel cats. We love them both
as if they were our own children (well, almost, hahahaha). Over the
course of this winter whenever it snowed I noticed tracks leading to
and from a hot tub...

Gang violence by
John Doe[_2_]
Yesterday my pint-size Calico was being harassed by my usually timid and
fun male cat. The hard-core feral was near him. He jumped on the front end
of the Calico and the feral immediately jumped on her backend. Of course I
stopped it. The feral is worthless as a pet, so that stuff won't be...

Trackers for cats? by
Rhino[_3_]
Is anyone of aware of any products that can be attached to a cat so that it
can be tracked if it doesn't come home on its own?
I'm thinking of various TV shows in which the cops track the bad guy via a
GPS chip in the bad guy's cell phone. Is there anything equivalent that I
could put on a cat...

Our cat had a little accident. :( Advice please! by
John Krystek
Hi,
Our 2 year old tabby Jinx hurt himself somehow during the night and I
was hoping for some advice, specifically whether we should take him to
the vet. I figure pictures speak louder than words so I took a closeup
of the wound:

It's on the back of his neck, and is a...

To stop cat from puncturing air bed? by
John Doe
Declawing is out of the question here in my house.
I know about clipping their claws. That is no problem.
I was thinking about covering the air bed with one or even two mattress
covers.
I guess that stuff will work, but I want to ask you all in case there are
methods not mentioned. I want to do...

Which holiday does your cat celebrate? Both myself and my cats celebrate
Chanukah. This year Isis and Jade will again get presents but I have no idea
what to get them.

Female cat simulating spraying (ie: Happy Butt) by
Shawn
Hiya,
My calico and my black tomcat both go through the motions of spraying -
tail straight up, twitching near the base. They're all fixed. Although
Harley, the calico, did go into heat once before she was fixed.
I can understand this with my male, but a female cat doing this?
Any thoughts?

Fat cat = animal abuse by

Please look at this page: http://tinyurl.com/krqwr
The article describes a cat that is between 46 and 50 pounds and "boasts a
thickset 33-inch waistline." He eats 30 pounds of food each week! The
owner claims that he is healthy, despite remarks that "he's a waddler" and
"not much for running." ...
