Ping Everybody! Conan by Mary
I just sent emails to the parties involved--since you all have it so well in hand, and all I can really do is send money, I am leaving it to you unless you need me to do something else. As soon as you give me the go I will have my accountant send Dan an even $200 that will cover the adoption fee,...

US Pet Owner Survey by [email protected]
Hi everyone, I am a student at the University of Pennsylvania working on a survey of US pet owners. The aim of this survey is to research the relationship between pet owners and their pets and in particular their attitudes towards their pet's health. Three years ago a similar survey was conducted...

Dan Mahoney Lied to Us--It's a Fact by Mary
He is not out of town, he is posting again in the other group. He will not answer our questions. It is clear that he lied to us, and betrayed our trust--and Conan's. He said that he went to pick him up but "another group" had gotten him, when in fact Dan got him from the shelter and has allowed him...

Practicing the pounce by Justin L
When I play with my cats, dragging a toy attached to a wand, they like to practice the way they pounce. They get all exotic with crazy somersaults and stuff, and if they mess up the approach, they stop, go back and hide in their pounce spot, and start over. Anyone else's cats do this?

Adult Cat does not use litterbox by goddessgina
Hello, I'm hoping someone can help me. A few months ago we adopted a cat from a local rescue group. We knew at the time that he would not "go" inside the litterbox. We were told that he went outside the litterbox and had gone on the litter a few times as long as the litter was on a flat surface. To...

Any advice on RENAFOOD to maximize kidney function in older cat? by Rick
Hi, I had my cat Callie to the vet a couple of months ago for a checkup and the doc told me she had to have a tooth extracted but he did bloodwork first and found certain kidney levels were a little elevated so she was put on a special diet of Hill's k/d prescription food. She does not like this...

Asthmatic, Allergic, and EGC Cats ... by Mary
Our vet visit went well yesterday. The senior vet gave Cheeks her Depo Medrol shot, and confirmed that she had little congestion and NO linear granuloma (bumps!) on the backs of her legs. This when she had not had a Depo Medrol shot since MARCH! Upshot: if your cat has allergies , asthma, or EGC,...

Conan Airlift by Dan M
It sounds like someone has been in contact with the OC shelter a few times. In order to avoid confusing the issue with the shelter, would the person who has been in contact with them care to call again, or shall I? What I want to find is the following: 1) Would an out-of-area adoption (i.e....

My Traveling Kitty!! - UPDATE by LauraM
Several people responded with helpful hints regarding taking my kitty (Hobbes) in a car. Just wanted to let everyone know that he traveled perfectly! Someone had suggested I use Feliway and it worked like a charm. Hobbes was very comfy in his cage with a sheepskin pad. When we got to our...

What to do with my Aggressive Cat by mike_arl
My wife and I have had our cat, Isabella, for about 6 years. She is very sweet to us but since she was a kitten has been extremely aggressive and territorial towards anyone other than us who comes into the house -- hissing, growling, cornering the person, etc. My wife and I are expecting our...

Rescue De Jour by biggerbadderbarry
I wonder if another Cat could be rescued as a direct result of the people here. There are so many cats that needs homes, I wouldn't begin to know where to start; each one is just as deserving as the next. Was this a fluke, or did I just see something special happen.

rabies vaccination efficacy by Ami
Hi, I just realized that my cat is overdue for his rabies by about 4 months. I'm having him vaccinated today, but it made me wonder what kind of danger he's been in. He kills all sorts of critters, some are unidentifiable (just giblets) by the time we see them in the yard. He's been on schedule...

bumps and bites: what sort of beastie is biting? by jmc
She shouldn't have them, as she's on Stronghold (flea, tick, etc stuff, like Frontline), but Meep's got these little bumps inside her ears - mostly toward the tips - and a couple more of them, with bloody middles, where her hair is thin between her eyes and her ears. She doesn't seem to be...

Romeo-no more vomit by Java
Well since I switched from stainless steel to ceramic bowls, I haven't picked up vomit since June 21 and I sure don't miss it. I think the bottled water helped also. I used to pick up about 3 times a week and he is a short hair tabby. I love him to death and am sure glad this is...
