Travel query by Tater Cole
So my wife and I are in those awkward years between backpacking across a foriegn continent and going on a managed tour for seniors. This means we are heading to Maui for a couple of weeks in the not too distant future. We've signed up for something called a LOU OWWW and are planning to go on a...

Bats can Give Cats Rabies? by sheelagh
I found this story rather surprising. I have never heard of bats carrying rabies before now, but then again, we don't have rabies here...(Yet!) http://www.mlive.com/news/chronicle/index.ssf?/base/news-11/1181915114303570.xml&coll=8 Is this a common problem, or a one off incident? S;o)

No more Wellness by ---MIKE---
Wellness is an excellent product and my cats like it BUT OMH has stopped shipping it. My store has not been able to get any for several weeks. Their supplier (P&P) have just started getting shipments and they are already allocated to stores (not my store however) and say it could be 30 days before...

Gig's Up, Megan ([email protected]) by Wake Up, People
We know that it's you who has been making anonymous emails designed to look like they are made by your "enemies." We know you had your friend call Dan and threaten him. We know who you are and we know what you're doing. You thought you weren't traceable but you are.

Bengals vaccine side effects by Mandarina via CatKB.com
Two weeks ago I brought home our two new Bengal kittens - Jasper and Beau - they were 3 months old and when they left the breeder's home they were both healthy and playing happily. The kittens had just had their booster - when they had the first jab the breeder said they had 'stiff legs' for a...

Keeping my wife healthy by [email protected]
Ok, this may seem ironic. Many of the regulars here know that my wife and I had our three kittens declawed last summer. They are now fine and in great health and show none of the terrible side effects I was told to expect. But none of this is the reason for this post. My wife was recently...

help devising a feeding plan for senior cat who needs to lose weight--please.... by Rona Yuthasastrakosol
My brother's cat is seriously obese. He's a big cat, and would probably still be about 15 lbs if he were normal, but he sits at about 23 lbs right now. My brother says Shiro has a slow metabolism--I'm not sure if this was a vet's diagnosis, or his own--so he feeds him only 230 kcal/day. Now,...

Cat urine & floor tile by Janet
Hi! I'm hoping someone can help me. My friend's Grandma just passed. Now my friend has Grandma's house. I guess Grandma had a few cats & couldn't get around real well. There must have been spraying going on or cats not using the box all the time. The place smells dreadful. She is going to remodel,...

Big Boy Update by Chris
Well, I am overwhelmed by the generosity of all of you! Right now, I think I am not going the Michigan route for a lot of reasons. First, I don't think he could handle the trip. I'm in a real dilemna here... He really is timid little soul who is responding very well to the 'homey' touches. ...

Cat seizures by Hugh Jardon
Hi all, one of my cats has been having seizures. I noticed a month or so ago that she was accidentally bumping into objects, and thought, that is normal for cats, because all cats do this periodically. But she kept getting worse, and had a full-blown seizure (very scary) so I took her to the vet....

Mixing Rice with Canned Cat Food by Randabana
I'm trying to reduce my two cats calorie and fat intake. The Vet says they are healthy but could lose a pound or two. Does anyone have any experience with adding cooked rice to canned food? How much rice is enough - what's the correct ratio rice/cat food? Currently I am giving them Science Diet...

Anal glands - yuck!! by KellyH
About every 6 months - year, NewCat decides to express her anal glands. They seem to spontaneously leak. This past week, it's happned twice, of course while she's on me. How do I know when they are impacted/infected, and a trip to the vet is needed? Since they leaked, are they expressed? I...

Another Hartz poisining by Karen Chuplis
There is a class action suit (or was) out there. Check into it. Do not except "compensation" from the company. That is how this has gone on so long. They offer to pay your vet bills. This is at the bottom of the Vetcentric page: If you think your cat has suffered a reaction to a Hartz Advanced...
