Kitty nightmares. by .oO rach Oo.
To preface this, I've said here before that when we adopted Delilah and Stella, we almost weren't allowed to take them both because the woman at the shelter said the older one would kill the younger. They proved her wrong almost immediately when Delilah (the older) did her bit in litter training...

Inapprop. Urin. - I have a theory by Brian Link
Well, Henry's been gone for weeks, and Louis has started spraying again. No other changes in the household, except I was out of town this weekend. My wife caught him spraying our closet door upstairs (where no one's peed before), and the closet downstairs (where he used to pee). I've gone through...

FLUDT by K...........
Hi, I posted a few weeks ago. Our 8 year old cat has FLUDT, and has had this condition for about 6-7 years. Recently he had a bad bout of FLUDT, which eventuated in hospitalization for 4 days and a catheter used as well. Quite expensive.

scratching by his food? by blueberries79
We recently rented a house that was just finished being remodeled. The hardwood floors are uncovered and there is a beautiful smooth tiling through the rest of the house, including the utility room. We decided to keep the litter box in there and also to feed them in that same room, kind of...

Mystery of the Fuzzy Cat Toy by [email protected]
My 4-year old male cat has a mysterious habit. Every once in a while he'll start meowing incessantly as he carries this long furry cat toy throughout the house. The cat toy is one of those whip kind of toys, resembling a fuzzy 3' piece of material attached to a stick like a fishing pole. He'll...

first after-hours trip to the vet. by jmc
Well, just got back from the vet, 10pm on a Saturday night. Meep was chokeing, or something like it, so I called, and went. Guess that's why I pay through the nose for this vet (they're REALLY expensive - £80 for the visit + shot) - quick service, and a wonderful vet. I'm within about 3 minutes...

Message ID Your advice on trapping and neutering the tomcat is on the right track. It feels almost right. The one thing that bothers me is that the cat doesn't act feral. After a few days he let me pet him. He seems well fed and acclimatized to...

Need advice - got our runaway cat back! by Justsomebody
Just hope some cat lovers out there can give me any insight as to what to do, or what to expect from this situation: We got "Boz" from the shelter in March. He's a long-haired neutered male, that was 1 year old when we got him. When he first got home, he was a little shy, but warmed up quickly...

Feliway availability by Ashley
Just a query to everyone regarding how widely this is available in your country. Here, the distributors will only distribute it through vets. What's the situation in your country - can you get it in pet shops?

Giving Pills With Water by Mary
I have to pill one of my cats twice a day, two-halves of two different pills each time. (I plan to look into flavored liquids etc. that Phil has mentioned, but have not done it yet. My regular pharmacy does not have these things, I have at least checked that.) Most times, she really hates this...

Bathroom cat -- In the Pet Porter at long last by Charlie Wilkes
I set the food dish and nanny cam in the Pet Porter and tied a cord to the gate, which I then fed through the crack in the bathroom door. That way I could observe when the cat entered the porter and pull the gate shut from outside the room. It took some patience, but it worked. The cat lunges...

Happy 14th Birthday Amaretto! by Margaret Caldwell Ott
It is hard to believe, but our sweet Amaretto is now 14 as of Friday. He has had diabetes for almost 7 years. His blood sugar is stable and the vet says his fructosamene test is right on line! We home test his blood sugar twice a day and do a curve on him at home once a mont., Amaretto was...

Feeding Thee Times a Day? by Mary
My fat cat Buddha has been on a canned-food only diet, with gradual, small reductions in the amount I feed her when she hits a plateau. She is losing weight slowly and safely. However, this cat is a real character, and very expressive, and she definitely lets me know that she wants food more...

blocked cat--- how much does your vet charge for this? by animzmirot
My 8 year old male cat was blocked when I woke up this morning. A trip to the emergency vet later, we got an estimate of between $1250 and $1650 to unblock him (with anesthesia), catheterize him, 2 overnights in the hospital, antibiotics, and an analysis of his urine to determine what kind of...

Worried about my cat by [email protected]
Everything seemed fine, until a little after dinner Missy cat ran under the bed and won't come out. She growls at my other cat, Mr Spock (normal), but she is also growling at me, which she's never done before. It's a low long growl like I've never heard from her before. She's been there for...

Cat suddenly started wobbling by Coconut
Hi Folks, I adopted a two year old male this Monday (yesterday) and he is a friendly outgoing cat. He was fine all day yesterday and very active, even tho I had him quarantined to my room. About two hours after he came home, I introduced him to my dog...the two hit it right off the bat and like...

Little bump on eyelid? by Pidge
My cat has a little dark brown bump where his eyelid is. It's not near the tearduct and doesn't cause any pain. It's very hard to see, as it's practically buried in his fur. Has anyone ever heard of this before? ------------- To send email, replace "antispam" with "sympatico" JOA DVD Boxed Set,...
