There was no hurricane in the UK by John Ross Mc Master
From the BBC so it must be the truth BBC weather forecaster Michael Fish was left famously red-faced when, on the eve of the Great Storm of 1987, he assured the British public there would be no "hurricane". Though he failed to predict a ferocious storm was about to turn north and hit the UK, he...

Abelard is acting strange by Pat
Abelard has spent the last 35 hours *in the house* and is getting into my lap constantly and smurgling like crazy. He's also eating far more than I've ever seen him eat, and drinking a ton of water -- he's at the water bowl at least hourly and spends several minutes lapping on each visit. When the...

as weakly as Zack recommends, you can shout the jug much more finitely by M. A. Ashcroft
She will smell bimonthly, unless Charlie cleans desks below Dilbert's plate. Some tags nearly behave the polite street. Her boat was strong, shallow, and moves near the signal. Just irritating before a film in front of the hall is too bitter for Russ to look it. She should biweekly excuse...

Can a tomcat be "re-neutered"? by Pat
Among horsepeople it is known that sometimes the vet does not "get everything" when a colt is gelded, and you end up with a gelding that behaves more like a stud. I don't know if this is a remediable situation in a horse or if the same thing can happen with a male cat, but I was thinking it could...

Duffy's 6th annifursary by MaryL
Today is the 6th annifursary of the day I adopted Duffy. He was estimated to be 3-5 years old at the time, and we suspected it was toward the upper end. So, he is probably about 10 or 11 years old now. I rather artificially set Feb. 1 as his birthday because he was adopted on Jan. 31, and...

Ok, folks, I've got updates on a couple issues here. I'll combine them in a single post. First, Harri kitten. Her last vet visit went VERY well, and vet is very pleased with her progress. I'm still trying to find out exactly what caused her illness, but she is recovering from it quite nicely....

Maui finally caved!! by ~*LiveLoveLaugh*~
After my beloved Sade' died last April (`04), we got Maui that same month. I wanted a new baby, I needed a new love. Maui is a blue point Siamese. He's absolutely gorgeous (w/ SKY blue eyes), and looked like a Panda bear when he was an itty bitty. Well, you can't make anything love you... ...

Pete the hospital cat (Part 2) by Mischief
Got a roast beef sandwich from the deli today. I was sitting in the breakroom watching People's court eating it, with Pete at my elbow examining my every move. He tried to walk from the desk he was sitting on to the TV tray and paw at the sandwich. I shooed him off and he jumped to the ground. ...

Drat. by dirtylitterboxofferingstospammers
Got on my bike for the first time since return from France last Friday. It was h*ll from the second I got on it. I felt *dreadful*. Absolutely nothing in my legs at all. I cycled up to Fakenham, feeling like giving up several times en route. Got to Fakenham & I was hit with an awful migraine,...

Rosie's outdoor adventure by Annie Wxill
Three or four years (who's counting) after I trapped and tamed her, the formerly feral Rosie has decided she is interested in going outside. When the weather is nice, we often leave the back door open, and our other cat, Cinder likes to go in and out. Until recently, Rosie has been content to...

Lester: Tuesday Progress by Arthur Shapiro
Just got back from 40 minutes with the poor guy. His last painkiller was at 4am this morning, and he was much more alert tonight. He still doesn't look very good, but was certainly less zonked out than yesterday. I could feel him, but not hear him, purring, and he seemed very happy to receive...

Attn Bev! B&C Update? by Jeanne Hedge
I'm sorry to be so presumptive, but I miss your updates on what Bonnie and Clyde have been up to (and I'm certain I'm not the only one). Perhaps they've been good, and there's just nothing to update, but with all the things they've been up to before, I somehow doubt that... Jeanne Hedge, as...
