Andrew
With x'mas on the way I'm tempted to buy a pot of poinsettas (those

several whole plant to get enuff poison for them?!). What's the truth??
thanks

question about fur quality by
Yngver
About six months ago a very emaciated stray cat appeared on our doorstep, and
despite the repeated objections of our resident cats, she ended up staying. At
the time we found her, she was very malnourished (weight only 5.5 lbs for an
average size cat) and her fur was coarse and clumpy. On a good...

Flea & Tick Control? by
[email protected]
Hi,
I have 2 adolescent cats (about 22 weeks old) and they're going
outside now. I wanted to get some kind of flea & tick control for
them. My Vet recommended Frontline and said that the over the counter
stuff could cause neurological damage.
In reading about Frontline, I found some dogs that...

Two Lost Cats by
Cat Protector
Apparently there are now two stray cats in my complex that have seemingly
been alone for a while. One is a Calico and the other is a long haired black
cat. The management approached me about helping these two cats but I am
limited on funds but they have allowed me to start a fund...

Feral cat behavior by
Betsy
I have 11 cats, 2 are rescued ferals from my old neighborhood. One settled
down into almost pet like behavior after she was spayed, the other is still
quite wild 10 years later.
The "pet-like" one, Melon, has some kind of skin condition which is
autoimmune. She is being treated for it with...

I Think I have a Maine Coon by
Sherry
(snipped)
He looks a LOT like a Maine Coon. He has the bushy
tail, the big high ears with little tufts of hair sticking out, and
the shaggy fur, including the droopy belly fur and britches. The only
characteristics he lacks are the longer mouth (his is more like a
normal housecat), and he...

Painful bump on cats back that isn't going away. by
James Collins
Hello everyone,
I have two male American Shorthairs that are both about 5yrs old.
One of them has developed a bump on his back (right above his front
shoulder). It appears that the problem is just under the skin, rather than
an external problem.
The bump is about the size of a pea, and feels...

Cat spraying: got professional help by
Mary
I just spent $395 to go to a cat behavioral psychologist. Patches spraying was
driving me nuts. Last week he peed on the bed and sprayed the side of it. He
does not have a urinary tract infection. He only sprays near where Mimi likes
to sit and sleep so I knew it had something to do with her. They...

Help! Kitten Vomiting! by
Spark
Hello everyone. I've had my kitten named sam for about 2 days. It is a
female kitten with black and grey stripes on it. Anyway, I have been
feeding it Purina Kitten Chow for about a day now, since she wouldn't
eat the first brand we gave her. We have also been giving her some wet
food. So far she...

I'm at wit's end with my cat... by
Leonessa
This morning, my cat decided it would be fun to attack my arm. I was
bleeding profusely all morning, and by the time the bleeding had
almost stopped, he did it again.
I know he's playing...he's just a very, playful wild cat. But this
kind of playing is not acceptable. And I've tried everything...

I know I've been asking a lot of questions since my arrival a few weeks
ago. The reason is because I can't seem to get adequate care instructions
from doctors I talk to.
My cat was put on neutral ph (IVD select care and waltham's so) soft food
three weeks ago after he was blocked.
The problem is,...

my cat keeps bringing home dead animals by

I live in the country and my cat is left to roam free amoungst the
fields, although i think this is great for the cat it is not so great
for the animals around it. It brings home, dead birds, rabbits, moles

is very upsetting to...

Compulsive licking by

If anyone has had a cat with a compulsive licking problem (where the kitty
licks raw places on their legs and other places), please let me know if your
vet was able to determine the cause, and how it was treated.
I will be taking her to the vet again but I'm curious what others'
experiences have...

Crushing Methimazole? by
Tony Toon
We recently got a third kitty, a middle-aged one from my sister. She
moved to England recently, and can't take the cat with her.
She takes 5mg of Methimazole twice daily, or at least is supposed to.
The old cats are chasing and fighting her constantly, so she won't let
anybody get near her, and...

Put Amoxil Drops on food? by

So, the vet prescribed amoxil for the kitty. Who really doesn't

her not eating it...

Claw question by
Wendy
Two nail clippings ago I noticed that Tiggy's claws on a few "fingers" have
gotten really thick. I didn't think too much of it the first time I clipped
them. I thought maybe she was getting ready to shed the outer nail like they
do periodically. When I clipped them the next time and they were still...

Aluminum foil for furniture scratching. by
[email protected]
Ok...I sprayed the furniture with "No Scratch," I've sprayed the
scratching post with catnip spray, I've put the double-sided sticky
tape on the chair.
She isn't repelled by the spray, and she actually goes AROUND the
sticky tape, finds a spot that's fabric, and scratches it!
All while her...
