it's a mistake by
Pat
I usually don't brush the shorthaired kitties that much, and I found out
this weekend that's a mistake. Tommy and Eli got brushed and between them
lost enough fur to stuff a small pillow.

OT FOR THE GROUP MERRY XMAS by
Matthew
I know the next couple of days will be crazy for some of us.
I wanted to wish a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to every one out there
before old age caught up with me and I forgot.

Poll: Forgotten Tongues by
Pat
I used to think it was common for a cat, when interrupted suddenly by some
noise or motion; to which it must give momentary undivided attention, in the
process of licking itself, to "freeze" with the tip of its tongue sticking
out of a closed mouth, and then appear to forget that the tongue is...

My Brave Bandit by
CatNipped
I know it's been a while since I posted - seems like every time I do lately
it gets pretty much ignored (did I get kill-filed by everyone for something
I wrote???) But since I really miss my rpca friends, I figured I'd give it
one more try. So, here's a story of feline bravery and...

Wood ash for cat litter? by
Christina Websell
Sometimes, if her litter tray is not quite as pristine as she would like
(this is the tray she only pees in), KFC will use the brass tray that I put
under my woodburner that catches the ash that escapes when I load it up.
She seems to use ash as happily as litter.
So..does anyone know of any...

Alas, Rita has to stay alone... by
Jane
I went to the shelter yesterday to see the kittens. Of course, I
wanted to take ALL of the cats home. They all looked desperately in
need of loving slaves. *sniff*
Problem is, I filled out reams of paperwork and went through an
interview process, only to find out that they needed proof that...

Abelard is sick :( by
Pat
He's barfing all of a sudden. Three or four times since supper last night.
He eats, then tosses it back up. If he doesn't quit real soon he's off to
see TED. Purrs that this will be unnecessary would be appreciated.

Lily made it after all by
H. Adam Stevens
How about some good news?
Lily the kitty did indeed survive her swollen paw and was adopted.
The nice lady at the shelter took a moment to correct her earlier
assumption;
And now I must correct my earlier posts.
I was there to drop off high-resolution pictures of Brown Recluse spiders.

Vet Tech Journals: The staff (LONG) by

Now for the staff. I apologize for the length, but part of it is a
rant too.

holistic medicine and does animal acupuncture. I haven't really seen
much of it, but she also works emergency somewhere else and I've been
able to learn...

I have just finished reading what I will call "Bettina's Thread" and I

introduce ourselves, that is). What a lovely group, and what lovely

Cat Whisperer
I have an account with free.teranews (one time charge of $3.95)
It has worked flawlessly until a few days ago with Outlook Express.
Now I get errors often and Teranews support tells me they are not even set
up to work with OE!
They suggested I try a real newsreader software.
I just tried News...

Jayy - it worked out again!
Pünktchen, the second cat to spay was captured this morning and I
drove her to the vet. This time we were prepared - both of us had
thick leather gloves and it all went well.
Though we watched out like hell, she managed to escape, but we could
catch her immediately and...
