Panic Mouse toy by
Paul O.
Went to PetSmart tonite to get cat food and saw these. Brought it home and
so far the cat loves it. Been playing with it for about an hour now. For
those of you who use Nutro Pouch it's 49 cents a pouch today.

Can a cat catch a cold? by
Roger Kneebend
My neighbor, lamentably without Internet access, so I'm asking for her,
thinks her cat has a cold! For a couple days her cat has been sneezing.
She *did* take him to be groomed on Wednesday and didn't wrap the
carrier in a blanket.
If a cat *can* catch a cold, what home remedies are there?
Thanks!

anemia - continuation of hyperthyroid post by
ElvisRocks
Well I finally got the results back on my Elvis today. He has
non-regenerative anemia. All his kidney functions, etc are good, though and
he tested negative for leukemia, FIV (both of which he had been tested for
years ago) and heartworm. He has every symptom of the hyperthyroidism
except...

Broken Kneecap by
Wideass
A few weeks ago, our cat was beaten up by the local bully tomcat. A
visit to the local vet and an x-ray proved that she had broken a
kneecap. The treatment was surgery (at a specialist vet). A hole was
drilled through both halves of the kneecap and they were tied together
with some fine wire (I...

How much to feed a cat.? by
Brian Link
As I've mentioned before, our stray Henry is pretty big. He's a
long-haired cat, so he looks even bigger than he really is, but he is
overweight. http://frontpage.visi.com/~blink/images/Henry%20005.jpg
(to give scale, each tile that he's laying on is about 14 inches)
Because of his isolation in...

Cat/ringworm/vet by
Kitten
My cat was recently diagnosed with ringworm, and it's costing me a
fortune!
After an exam with a culture and topical medication that doesn't work
(costing more than $100), I am now having to get oral medication for
yet another $150. The affected cat will take it for four weeks, while
the other...

Urine on porous ceramic tile and grout by
Elijah
Hi. I'm in the early stages of trying to toilet-train my two small
cats. They kicked some litter out of the box onto the floor, so they
assumed that the litter on the floor was an extension of the litter
box. The floor, unfortunately, seems to be semi-porous ceramic tile
with lots of grout. The...

It sounds like the rescue is taking her to a spay clinic. All spay...

Ring worm by
catlvr
Can you get ring worm from a cat's fungal ear infection? I have looked
all over the internet and there are no difinitive answers, although
humans can definitely get ring worm from a cat who has ring worm.
My cat is being treated for a yeast infection in his ear, and I have
developed (what I think...

First Meeting by
Justin L
I set up some gates in the doorway of the bedroom today for the cats
to get a safe look at each other. Elwood was definitely interested in
the new cat. He had his whole leg through a hole in the gate trying to
paw the new cat. I don't think new cat liked that too much, because he
backed up well...

I assume I'm gonna hve to take these two to the vet about this... but better to ask for as much help as possible first!

fur plucker by
CaTails
Hello all,
I have a 9 year old cat who has been an "on-again/off-again" fur
plucker. I had him all checked out, bloodwork and everything all
normal. He started this when one of my other cats died and then a year
later another of my cats became very ill. All of this spiked his
anxiety and he...

Claw-clipping Problem by
Roger Kneebend
I clip my cat's claws once a month, but I realized this afternoon I
last hadn't since early December. One of her claws has grown inward and
is gently pressing into her paw pad. Unfortunately, when I get the
clipper around even the tiniest portion at the end she go nuts, as
though it's causing her...

A note about cats aggressive to people by
Brian Link
Been reading a lot here lately, and one thing I thought I'd pass
along.
My brother brought a beautiful siamese home from Italy. The poor kitty
vanished when his plane landed, and for a week we thought it was gone.
He was very sad.
I got a call from a gal with a thick Texas accent who asked "Did...

Our household update (new cat.. way too long introduction) by

I keep meaning to call Meghan but we are so incredibly swamped we
hardly have time to say hi to each other in our household, let alone
set an appointment. I'll be calling her this week.
Henry is drilling in as one of my favorite cats of all time (the
1-yr-old stray we adopted). He has a Nerml...

New cat update by
Justin L
The new cat seems to be settling in well. He is eating well, and is
using his litter box without any problems. He is constantly moving his
front paws though, it looks like he is giving the carpet a massage or
something. I am wondering if it has something to do with his short claws
which I still...
