Hairball problem? by Kris
My 4-year old kitty has thrown up 3 times today. This morning it was last night's food. A couple of hours later it was a clear, thick liquid. Just a few minutes ago it was 2 lumps of brown stuff that looked like matted hair. Since this is July 4th, my vet isn't in but hopefully will be tomorrow....

Enrofloxacin vs Orbafloxacin ? by [email protected]
My cat Casper had her teeth cleaned a few weeks ago and the vet told me that she had a high level of red blood cell in her urine. After 1 week of Clavamox the level was still high and the urine culture results came back negative, i.e. they weren't able to grow anything. So my vet is saying that...

Ragdoll eating only a little bit by Marcel
LS, our 2 year old female Ragdoll has been eating very little for months now. She used to have a healthy appetite, but since last February she doesn't really like to eat. We've been trying all kinds of food (only dry food, she never touched canned food, even when she had an appetite). We took her...

the mentholatum mistake (sos) by Camoose
I have a strange little question for you folks regarding my cat. Here's the backstory; I will try to be brief! Four or five nights ago I woke up in the middle of the night with a pain in my shoulder. I keep a tube of Ben Gay mentholated rub near the bed (how frumpy, I know) and in my sleepy state...

Full Circuit on Male Cat Blockages by Peter W.
Do you all remember when male cats were supposed to be neutered as soon as possible as there was "No effect on future urinary problems"? And everyone looked down on people delaying neutering to allow male cats to mature? Not so much any more. Our 4-year, 6-month old Maine Coon mix went in for...

Litter Robot 3 "open-air" by John Doe[_2_]
Bought one. Not sure about prior models, but it is okay. Doubt I would have liked the preceding models' small openings. With the current model you can easily wipe off the inside, so you can remove the shield, giving them a little more room inside. Mine slightly bobs up and down as it cycles. I...

YouTube channel promoting child abuse... by John Doe[_2_]
I occasionally remember someone posting to this group about "the unthinkable happening". Apparently their cats were playing, or perhaps fighting and they weren't stopping it, and one of the cats got an eye clawed out. As someone who has managed cats for decades, I am very mindful of the risk of...

Calcium Oxalate stones - Hill's CD Multicare or KD food? by Jo - the girl
I have a 10 y/o cat that developed calcium oxalate stones five years ago. He refuses to eat canned/wet food and has always been like that. I had a terrible time trying to wean him when he was a kitten. He was the only one of the litter who wouldn't eat the kitten food. In fact, at one point he...
