The kidlets have arrived!!! by JBHajos
Stephanie called this morning to let us know that twins Ayden and Logan arrived via C-section at approx 8:30 EST (7:30 CST for us). All went well; Danielle was in recovery and is A-OK. Not too many details yet but Stephanie said they were both yelling up a storm. No exact weight but estimated at...

Nikki saw TED by Marina
I took Nikki to see TED today, because she has been wheezing pretty loudly, i.e. her asthma is acting up. TED gave us a course of cortisone tablets. She also checked Nikki's liver and kidney function and blood glucose, and was amazed at the results. She said that everything was perfect, much...

Purrs please: the bloodbath by Caroline S.
I came home today to find blood everywhere. In the staircase, all over the kitchen into the dining room, in our bedroom, on the guest bed, by the litter boxes. I don't know whose it was, the cats are all a little skittish, but not apparently injured. By luck, I have an appointment at TED tomorrow...

RB Tiger by Karen
My sister's cat Tiger had a heart attack last night and had to be put to sleep. She was an older cat, in her teens. Several years ago a lady in her Sweet Adelines choir had to move and she took in the ladies cat Tiger. I think tiger was around 8 then. She's had her at least 5 years. Last night...

Thermo-chipping by Adrian
I just read this in "The Cat" magazine, it sounds interesting. Taking the temperature of a pet need no longer be a headache for vets, thanks to a new implantable biosensor technology. The *Identichip with bio-Thermo* makes it possible to take a temperature reading in the same way as scanning for a...

pleasant memory by Marina
"Norm" wrote When I woke later Quinn was gone but when it thundered later I could feel a lump by my foot. Sure enough, it was Quinn, back under the comforter on his own. I truly feel complimented and favored. Norm I know how you feel. Nikki has never been an...

I was given a 5 1/2 week old kitten for a Mother's Day gift. I've never had a cat this young. Are liquid bowel movements normal or does she have a problem?? Norma

Welcome new baby!!! by Gracecat
We had a birthing last night. One of my father's horses finally dropped her colt sometime between 10pm and 7am this morning. I haven't seen him yet, it's raining and I didn't want to drag the kidlets outside long enough to walk to the barn but I bet he's a cutie!! Grace

Update:Bloodbath by Caroline S.
Well, the visit to TED shed no light on the source of the blood. All claws are accounted for, Pippin and Fizz's mouths look fine. Ears look fine too. Behaviorally, we are going to try Buspar for Pippin and Amitryptiline for Fizz for 6-8 weeks to see if that helps. Either way, we'll then wean...

Update on Gabby by Mishi
Hi all, Thanks so much for the purrs, they seemed to have helped! She did eat a little this morning, but I took her to the vets anyway. The vet couldn't find anything wrong with her! She told me to keep an eye on her, and if she didn't act better by tomorrow am, to bring her back. When I got her...

Adrenaline in the Afternoon by Christine Burel
Hi all, I just came home about an hour ago and found out that one of our "pet screens" got pushed out and both Tucker and Midnight did a jailbreak. I was just panicked -- ran outside and began calling and fortunately found Tucker in our backyard within maybe 15 minutes. He came up to me and let...

Picked up The Dust (RB) by TJ
The Dust's dust that is. :) The Pet Cemetery of Tucson has made this whole experience just wonderful for me. It is so nice to be around people who understand and care. My DH brought Dusty in to be cremated the day after he went to the bridge and even though his dust was ready to come home on...

OK, I can't resist posting this joke, which I just received today. It fits in with a recent discussion. Some of you won't like it, and some, I'm sure, will love it. YMMV! Joyce ---------------------------------------- A woman bought a very expensive fancy car, full of bells and whistles. Just...

Will cats get bit and carry/spread/catch lyme disease? Do the usual shots prevent this? Boston news criers are warning about lots of ticks this year. Brad

Memories of Franny Cat by TBird
She was a stray kitten. Landed on the doorstep of my brothers work partner, who was allergic to cats. So she came to the office, and I claimed her and she would sit in my chair with me as I worked. She was named to go with a friends cat, Zooey, although they were both girls. Anyway, Franny was...
