OT - Mourning by CatNipped[_5_]
I know we're trillions of dollars in debt, and I know US citizens are starving and unable to afford health care, but I am still mourning the death of our space program. What happened to our sense of adventure and love of discovery? -- Hugs, CatNipped See all our masters at: ...

OPC problem. (other peoples' cat) by Sherry
To try to condense the story, what I need is some input with anyone who has experience with either herpes virus or calcivirus in cats. This cat is skinny, ill, won't eat. Friend took her to the vet who said she had herpes virus and gave her L-lysine; her eyes are unaffected but she acts lame, and...

Lily not feeling well by Irulan
Please purr and pray that my poor baby Lily starts feeling well soon. Seems she was stressed out about 2 days ago when some repair people came over to fix the central air-conditioner. She got spooked by their presence and the noise and she went and hid and didn't get to eat her food until late...

What's Cooking Today? by CatNipped[_5_]
Fourth of July question, but anyone can chime in with tonight's dinner menu. Despite the wild partying going on at our crazy neighbor's, who choose every opportunity to have a pool party with loud, obnoxious music, which keeps *our* outside activities to a minimum... we're breaking out the BBQ...

Don't let your cat read Kipling (GW) by nik Simpson
I think either Custer or Smily has been reading The Jungle Book. Apparently one of them decided to go all Riki Tiki Tavi on a 4ft King Snake's ass. Satisfied with the accomplishment, the dead snake was dropped of on the porch by the cat door. Sadly, it was placed in a non-obvious location, and...

OT - Literally Can't Win For Losing by CatNipped[_5_]
I'm down to 87 pounds. :( No matter what or how much I eat (Ensures included) I not only can't gain weight, but I am slowly losing ground. Tweed, I haven't heard back from my PCP about the prescription nutrient drink you showed me. I'm going to send another email and follow up with a phone...

Blanket Purrs by jmcquown[_2_]
I know some of you have lost beloved cats over the last month. Unfortunately, real life intruded (in a good way) too much for me to really read or post much here. I want to offer purrs for your broken hearts and purrs for healing. Jill

Dunzi update by Lesley Madigan
No sooner had the purrs started than she stood up, walked into the kitchen and had some water and she's done it again since then and looks a whole lot better. Either the purrs worked or it's a possible BCT maybe she's overheated - Dave's keeping a close eye on her but as the vet we trust doesn't...

OT - Death of a Friend by CatNipped[_5_]
You know about my recent "break up" with my friend of 50 years. Her daughter called me today to say that her father had died. This wasn't totally shocking or unexpected, he'd had a stroke just before I had my emergency surgery in February. But I didn't know that he'd gone so far down hill. ...

Light tapping by Lots42
My cat hates light tapping near her tail. She's healthy as a horse (she leaps like a rubber ball) but a gentle tap there gets a frustrated meow. She also gets the most frustrated look when I give her tummy nuzzles. I'm surprised my face is still on.

Re-homing called off... by Pat[_3_]
We decided to pass on the new homes offered for Elvis, Twiggy, Arthur and Guinivere. The last three were to have gone to one place, together, as a family, which was good, but to the wrong place. Ditto for Elvis, we learned on closer questioned of the prospective adopters. None of the four cats...
