Facing some difficult choices by
Dave Humes
Hello,
I posted several days ago about our cat Ginger who had been diagnosed with
acute pancreatitus. There are new findings now that challenge that initial
diagnosis, but also may support it. I know I am repeating some of what I
discussed in the pancreatitus thread. But I think my update got...

Success with feliway? by
GwenyP
We have an orange tabby, Fred, who has been having an ongoing problem spraying
at various places throughout the house. We've tried almost everything -- taken
him to the vet to have him checked for urinary problems, made sure the number
of litterboxes corresponds to the number of cats, put him on...

Pet Food Recall by
PawsForThought
I had never heard of this food before, but someone told me about it being
recalled due to causing deaths, so just in case someone does feed this brand,
here is the link about the recall:

Cat attacks new baby - need help! by
Lashton
Our rescue group recently had a call from a distraught new mom. Her
cat of 10 years, Beavis, has taken serious exception to their new baby
when it cries and has literally attacked her several times, inflicting
some nasty bites. She thinks Beavis is trying to attack the baby, but
she's always put...

I have a 10 month spoilt rotten kitten (well she's more a cat now I

A month ago my partner and I left to go away for 10 days as I needed to
be in Sydney for a wedding. I organised a close friend to look after

Frostbite temperatures by
Mike
How cold would it have to be outside for half of a cat's ears to get
frostbite and break off? I'm asking because a few years ago a stray
showed up on my doorstep and half of her ears looked like they had
been cut off. I later asked the vet and he said they broke off from
frostbite. I'd like to know...

I am so angry (vent) by
MaryL
I am so angry!! This isn't a problem where I need any advice, but I need to
vent. Some of you know that I adopted a beautiful blind kitty (Duffy)
several months ago. Today I had my windows and carpets cleaned. I used the
same man who has done this cleaning for a number of years -- but this...

blood near ear by
Joe Diamond
Yesterday I noticed a small spot of blood near the ear flap of my two-year
old Tabby, Shiloh. It's not in the canal, but in front of it below the
scalp. The blood's not dripping, and it looks like a scratch. The spot is
still visible today, but she's as playful as ever, her appetite's good,...

Is this FIP or something else by
Christina
Hi,
One of my family cats has been ill for about 5 weeks. The symptoms are
rather vague, lethargy, poor balance (she doesn't fall over but her
walking looks abnormal), sleeping in odd places and generally hiding
away from people (she's slept in the same spot for the 5 years we've
had her). She is...

Keeping cat out of room. by
JANET
I have a beautiful 6 month old Munchkin kitten, but I can't keep her ou
of the kitchen. She really is a tiny little thing and I am afraid of
stepping on her.
I have tried just saying "NO", using a squirt gun and shaking a can with
coins, but nothing is working . Does anyone have any suggestions?

Taking in the Outside Cat by

OK. If anyone has been reading this group for a long time, you will think I
am just gabbing and not serious.
SO, for those willing to listen, let's assume I have learned a WHOLE lot
over the last few years. IF I had realized what I now know, a lot would
have turned out differently.
BUT. I am...

Fireworks by
Mr Nangla
Just wondering what sort of reactions your cats have to the firework
seasons? My female indoor/outdoor seems to be saying in and just sleeping
and considering the temperture drop here in London is this normal in your
experiences?

I was talking to someone the other day about my new white cat and she asked
me if she was deaf. I said no and she said that most white cats were. I

broken front leg by
Siobhan Nearey
Hi all!
A friend of mine has a cat with a broken front leg. Cookies has been
in a cast for a few weeks, but the vet just checked her out again and
the leg isn't getting better. The vet says the problem is that
Cookies is still running and jumping around and putting weight on the
foot. The vet...
