Cat has crusty nose, vets are stumped, any ideas? by
Willows
It doesn't look like anything I'd worry about. Although I'm not a vet,
I see this often in cats that have been living outside its usually dirt
or food they just gets a bit stuck. Is he an indoor cat? How long does
it take to build up again after you wash his face and clean the area?

Hairballs & Cod Liver Oil by
Ruby Tuesday
Hello out there,
I recall once being told that a teaspoon (or tablespoon) of Cod Liver Oil
poured over wet cat food will prevent the cat from spewing hairballs.
Anybody got any confirmation on this?
TIA,
- Ruby Tuesday

Hitting My Cats in the Face by

OK, now that I've gotten your attention, it isn't as bad as it sounds.

Help! Lump in cats abdomen by
Mary
When rubbing my cats belly I felt a largish hard lump. My first though
is that he has cancer. Is there anything else this could be, anything
not horribly bad?
A fat pocket. My cat had one that felt like a hard boiled egg. The vet told me
it was just fat. I was relieved.

Well,
I blithely said I was giving my cat oral medication - huh!!
she's on a course of medication which comes one week on one week off, and the
first week I managed to get most of it into her via her food, but by the last
meal she rejected it out of hand, and it sat...

Broke Down: Fed 'Em Soft Food (Also, Iams?) by
noone
Well I broke down & did it. ***As a treat*** anyway, I got a couple of cans
of SOFT food. Friskies, Salmon Dinner. Cats are EATING it UP.
What the heck, at 10/3.50 (35c a can), why not. As a TREAT anyway, I'd say
(maybe) 3-5 cans a week for both cats, with hard food the rest of the time.
I don't...

Cat's urine ph very high by

Looking for some advice. I just bought chemical strips to monitor my cat's urine at home. He is very prone to urinary blockage and I'm desperately trying to catch problems before they start. I have read other posts in to fur loss on the back legs, but the

insides of his back legs. Nowhere else, just on the insides of his back legs!
He is a totally indoor kitty and here lately he...

To catnip or not to catnip? by
[email protected]
I've been trying to see if catnip is bad for cats. In googling I
don't see much on it here. We've given it to our cats (ages 2, 7,
12), and they all love it, don't seem to be any health issues.
Are there any health issues, or things to know? My theory is cats &
dogs are on this planet a much...
