Beware of introducing a new cat to your old cat by
John Doe
Many years ago, I had a long time female house cat (that had been
taken from outside, as always). She was with me for about 10 years
before I let another cat inside. That did not work out. She hated
him. I know she was jealous. The situation was worse than I
realized. It caused her lots of...

Imuran killed my cat! by
eric
Approximately 2 months ago, my cat, Luther, a sweet gray tabby, went
to the vet and was diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome. He was
placed on prednisone and Imuran for this. I, foolishly, trusted the
vet and did not research the drugs being administered. The IBD seemed
to improve but about 2...

Need info about spaying please by
Kim
Not the whys, just the how's. Brio came into heat today and although I'm
terrified of putting my girl through surgery I know it has to be done. Just
thinking about it makes me feel so sad and worried.
Even though she's young (7 months) I'll be getting pre-anaesthetic testing
done as I want to...

Best way to grab a ferel? by
John Doe[_2_]
When working with my neutered outdoor part feral cat, I must have total
conviction in what I am doing. If I get scratched a little along the
way, I mustn't react (or the session is over).
Any known technique for picking up such a cat with the least risk while
slipping a breakaway flea collar...

Anyone have experience with Chylothorax? by
[email protected]
I had to get Omar to the vet last night as he was having trouble
breathing. Xrays showed fluid around his lungs and they took 170 mls
out. The fluid fits the visual description of chlye to a T and will be
analyzed but won't go to the lab until later today. :-(
Omar also had an irregular heartbeat...

Resident female cat does not accept new kitten Help!!!!! by
Dan Coleman
My wife and I have an almost 5 year old neutered male cat and a just over 3
year old spayed female cat. We just got a female kitten who isn't spayed as
she is not yet old enough. The male was a bit wary at first but has
accepted her with great lengths - watching her, giving her baths, letting
her...

Adventurous cat by
The Doctor
First time owning a cat of our own.
I let him own for the 2nd time today. Just coming back from errands,
I saw our cat roaming outside acceptable bounds!
He was coming back to our block, but he was not to go off either block
or crescent.
He is due at the vet this Monday.

Cat Needs To Stay Out of the Window by
Larry R Harrison Jr
I have a cat that stubbornly refuses to stay out of the living room window.
I DO NOT want her in there, I do NOT care how much she likes seeing the
outdoors. The blinds on that window are fragile, and you have to have them
just so or else everyone walking by can see all in there.
Just when I get...

What would you do if your daughters boyfriend did this to your cats?
This was taken from an article by Amber Hunt Martin.

It wasn't just that Edward Baker allegedly bashed the cat in the face.
Or that he chased it around the blood-spattered laundry room. Or that

Can Hyperthyroidism CAUSE High Liver Enzymes ... by

in cats with no liver damage?
This is apparently the question.
Talked to my vet today, and he will agree that Buddha should have Tapazole
before the ratiation treatment if I can find an article that says that
hyperthyroidism can cause high liver enzyme readings in blood tests when
there is no...

Hello,
I am the proud servant of four rescued cats. They are my children and I am
distraught due to one of my cats reaction to a collar. I recently purchased

My cat started scratching until he made sores at our previous residence

bombed, the cat got a depo shot and flea medicine and everything was fine
for a few months. We moved. The scratching came back, the vet found no
evidence...

Best food for cats with cystitis by
Rick Ulrich
Hi ...
One of our cats has bouts of cystitis and a person at work said she was
told, don't know by whom, that cats should not eat canned foods with fish in
it if they have cystitis.
Is anyone have knowledge of this and if so what would be the reason? The
only canned food Saffie will eat is...

Namaste! The Art of Yoga - YogalifeGoa by

Yoga is an ancient technology of personal transformation. Its tools are remarkably simple, and yet, its effects are profound.
The true power of yoga lies not in the strength and vitality it gives the physical body (though this is undeniable), but rather in the profoundly positive ways it can change...

male cat loves plastic... by
Kimkat
Help! I have a 12yo neutered male, adopted in August 2006, declawed in
front (not by me)-- and he loves marking on plastic, or peeing in it.
(plastic dust pan, for example). He has been to the vet to rule out
medical problems, but is there anything I can do? He had also marked
on throw pillows and...
