Basho update by
Victor Martinez
Just got my baby scale and weighed Basho. He's 8.25 lbs, when I took him
to the vet last week he was 8.18. So he's not losing weight, that's good!
I also got my meat grinder and I found a local source of chicken hearts.
Now I'm just waiting for the supplements to arrive and I'll be ready to
make...

rustle rustle rummage rummage by
Kreisleriana
Autumn is in full swing, and it's Rush Hour in my back yard. Birds
all over. Squirrels bounding around, waving those outrageous tails!
Both of them on the ground, rummaging around for food, making
maddening rustle rustle noises. Stinky is on the sill, all aquiver.

Dude, I'm Gettin' a Dell by
Sherry
Whoa. I'm getting a new computer for my birthday. I'm so excited. (Even though
it's just a cheapo Dell)....BUT I now have a circa 1996 Packard Bell, with
Windows 95. I can't open half the websites people post, and if I do, it takes
forever (if the thing doesn't just lock up). Forget animated...

I'm getting emails like the following from Weather.com:
______________________
An excessive heat warning remains in effect until 7 pm CDT Tuesday.
A hot and humid Sunday was observed across extreme southeast Kansas and the
Missouri Ozarks. High temperatures ranged from the mid 90s to the low...

The Mike Report (Long, of course) by
LOL
Thank you all for your purrs and prayers and good wishes for my boy.
I am positive they have helped.
DH and Mike and I went to Florida today to see an internal medicine
specialist, and were there for most of the day. The clinic had
various specialists (even a veterinary opthamologist!) and only...

Tuna flavored water? by
Joy
It seems to me I've heard people mention giving their cats tuna flavored
water to get them to drink more water. Does anyone know where to find such
a thing?

Aaargh - busybody neighbor! :( by
[email protected]
I have this neighbor who seems to be convinced that I'm starving my cat.
Her concern was touching at first, but now it's just getting annoying.
A bit insulting, too.
If you've followed my story about Smudge conning the neighbors out of
food and treats, you can jump over the next several...

Baby earthquake by
[email protected]
We had a little earthquake in Northern CA tonight around 8PM. I was
sitting at my desk at work when it suddenly felt like one of the
janitors was rolling a cart of heavy concrete blocks down the hall.
It was a 4.4, which isn't major, but is definitely something you can
feel. However, it wasn't that...

I hate depression by
Gabey8
My final day at my temp job is Monday.
I just got the letter telling me what my unemployment compensation will
be. And as little as I was making as a temp, the unemployment comp is even
less. This is not good. :o(
What's not helping is the bout of depression that's rapidly setting in,
which makes...

Apologies to group, especially Pat by
Yowie
Sorry folks, its been along day and I just sort of got snarky. I cancelled
the message that I sent, but it probably got through to some news providers
anyway.
Just wanted to say sorry for being bitchy, particular to Pat. I hope the
spider bite doesn't cause you too much suffering.

[OT] Just needed to vent by
Yowie
Sorry to dump this on you guys, but I need to vent somewhere that is
understanding and sympathetic and nonjudgmental. And this is the place.
Don't know if you know the story of Daniel, Joel's younger brother. 3 years
ago, Daniel had his drink spiked and as a result went off his rocker right
around...

5-month-old Sammy, along with my three adult cats (Bandit, 14, Demi, 6, and
Jessie, 5) is cooped up in my bedroom while my mother-in-law is still here
with her 3 dogs (2 large, one small) and one neutered male cat.
The male cat is being kept shut up in an upstairs bedroom, and isn't really

Your cat doesn’t love you: science by
J[_3_]
http://news.nationalpost.com/news/world/your-cat-doesnt-love-you-science
Rudyard Kipling was right. Cats really do walk by themselves, and do
not need their owners to feel secure and safe, a study has shown.
Although absent owners might worry that their pet is pining, in fact,
cats show no sign...

Cats and Milk by
jmcquown
I know I've posted about this before but just curious. I keep hearing that
milk is bad for cats, yet I grew up hearing about "cats and cream" (or
milk). I know lots of people buy special "milk" for cats; goats milk and
soy milk. When Persia first came to me I asked the vet about giving...

Natasha Update by
Jeanne Hedge
Here's an update about Natasha, my 16 year-old mistress
who spent one Friday morning about 10 days ago coating my house in
vomit.
Today was the re-test of her out-of-spec blood test results (kidney
and pancreas). TED said at the time that just about anything could
have caused the kidney and...

Ping Karen / Medical advice: Benefiber and Guar Gum by
Monique Y. Mudama
So, I noticed that the active ingredient in Benefiber is Guar Gum. I
googled and find all sorts of info about how it's been banned from
weight loss supplements.
Why is it not banned as a fiber supplement? Are the amounts involved
much smaller?
What bugs me is...

Winter in June by
lrulan
I still can't quite wrap my mind around the fact that it's June in the USA
and hot as h*ll, and the catslaves in Australia and New Zealand are talking
about winter and coming cold weather. It's like when my husband tried to
explain to me that events that occurred in deep space millions of years...
