Shut Up, Buffy! by
jmcquown[_2_]
First time I've encountered this with Buffy. I don't know what got into
her last night. We were asleep. She was on the bed next to me. At
around 1AM she started meowing. I immediately woke up and asked,
"What's wrong, girl?" I gave her some scritches and she settled down again.
No sooner...

I have discovered by
Granby
I have discovered that putting someone in KF does no good, they just keep
showing on other posts of people I read.
I just wish we could drop some of the stuff and move on back to our "family"
type caring. Yeah, I know old lady wants harmony and life isn't like that.

Asthma video by
Julie Cook
If anyone is interested, there is a very good video that has just been
posted of Fritz "The Brave" having an asthma attack. I didn't know the
symptoms of asthma when Sam first presented. After about 1 1/2 weeks of
his coughing I took him to the vet and my description was "that he
looked like he...

Hi, there. by
Syl
Hi, I am Syl. I am a B/W kept inside the little condo of my Mom and
her family's. She adores me to the death and often gets too much and
I run away. It got to be obvious that I am the second generation with
this name, and my Mom lost the kittie who lived for over 18 years with
her about a couple...

[OT] Experiences with Xylitol (sugar substitute)? by
Monique Y. Mudama
Someone pointed me to Xylitol as a sugar substitute, particularly for
baking. It apparently has dental benefits and fewer calories than
sugar. This person said that she has even made a creme brule that
turned out beautifully. I think she said that, in a recipe calling
for sugar, she uses half...

"Bad kitty" warnings? by
Singer709
When our kitties decide to "become bad" and "get" us, we know that
they usually turn sideways and hunch up, or as my friend calls it,
becoming a "witch kitty".
Then they will likely run and paw at us, then dash off into the other
room, daring us to follow, at our peril.
Well, my big 19-pound...

Beastie RB 4/23/2005 by
Norm
Beast stopped eating the day after we arrived back in PA, Tuesday, his
yowling went harsher and when yesterday he wouldn't even sniff the
sausage patty brought home from breakfast - it was as though he waited
to get "home". His cairn is just a step from Max's. I'm surprised at
the depth of...

Back, sorta, with snippets (long) by
LOL
Real Life has swallowed me whole lately, but we have been sending
purrs out into the aether to be distributed as needed by the
mothership, and will continue to do so.
Hubert has decided that dishtowels do not belong on the oven door.
They just don't. He's very businesslike about it; he'll walk...

Got an "I Can Do Everything" Phone... by
CatNipped[_2_]
....have it sitting here next to me on the couch, and still can't grab it up
quick enough to get snapshots and video of the masters' playing. Of course,
first I have to find my glasses so I can actually *see* the phone and spend
ten minutes looking for them before DH tells me they're on my...

Bird Feathers in the shower by
Wulfdog
Anyone wake up in the morning or come home to bird feathers in the shower,
or worse yet bird beaks, legs, feathers and guts on the carpet? Our cats
are the best fed cats in Oklahoma, but they still love to have a good ole'
bird murder weekly. We sometimes catch them and pry the bird out of...

BAH! Stupid moron. by
Helen Miles
A new neighbour came around to discuss something earlier. She saw Lily.
After looking at her, and then at HRFL who deigned to come and inspect
her, she said that she wouldn't have cats with only one eye, and she
though I was nuts to have them when there were so many other *more
perfect looking*...

New pics: tree climbing and gardening by
Susan M
Hi the
I was out in the backyard trying to plant when the cats, particuarly
Chester, started being crazy. They were running around chasing each other
and then Chester climbed the chainlink fence and finally, the huge
ornamental crabapple, currently in blossom. He had a big fall from...

[OT] Exploding CD by
Yowie
Last night, there was suddenly an aweful noise from the kitchen. Joel rushed
over to find it was coming from the computer, specifically from the CDrw
drive, which had suddenly turned itself on (otherwise the computer was idle,
flicking through its screensaver, and had been for several hours)....

Cats and Water by

On another group I mentioned that since I deaf I can't hear water running

water on. Reposted here with her permission.

Ring tone that's silent to adults? by
Cheryl
I don't get it. Are kids like dogs? LOL It's all over the news
that there is a frequency that kids can hear and most adults
cannot. It was said that when it was discovered, the tone was used
in a store somewhere in Europe that had a teen population that the
proprietors didn't want loitering, so...

A Needy Siamese Cat by
Jo Firey
Siamese cats are not by nature a needy animal. They are aloof. Masters of
all they survey. They may permit scritches if it makes us happy and they
may even share the occasional purr. Physical closeness is also permitted
and everyone knows shared body heat is a good thing.
And of course an...
