The Difference between Euthanasia and Killing
Millions of cats die in U.S. animal control pounds and shelters every year.
The pounds and shelters say these animals are “euthanized.” But they’re
not—they are killed. An animal is only euthanized when she is terminally ill
or untreatably injured....

Hello everyone, my name is Eckhart Jimenez and welcome to my blog. I

The myth of the Siamese cat? by
Ablang
Every time I visit my local shelter, the purebred I see the most by
far is the Siamese cat. I have my suspicions as to why they seem to be
available in abundance. I read they have a reputation for mischief and
trouble. So a lot of them must be getting turned in because they knock
things over, or...

The myth of the Siamese cat? by
Ablang
So then what breed is the cat, Bucky Katt, featured in the comic
strip "Get Fuzzy"? I just assumed he was Siamese because of their
reputation for trouble, and apparently wild ideas.
A lot of people mistakenly consider any cat with points (darker feet, tail,
ears, and face) to be Siamese, but...

THE PET FOOD INDUSTRY AND YOUR PETS HEALTH (vol 1) by
WalterNY
There is a parallel to humans and pets in the area of nutrition. Not
all of these parallels are good for you or your pet. Here is a look
at how evolution got us here, what happens when you go against
evolutionary norms, and a look at how science related to dog nutrition
works.
For several...

This did not make me happy by
Fritti
There's been quite a stir down here with us in the Netherlands. There's been a puma sighted! Prowling on the loose, and responsible for a few sheep killings, this big pussycat has managed to get a twenty-people party of police on the move. And kitty has eluded them for a couple of times already....

Tick by
Bill Henderson
Hi
Cat's got a tick on its neck. How do I get rid of the bugger?
It also had the odd flea or several so I gave it a dose of Advantage 80 for
Cats. Now no sign of fleas but I can still feel the tick.
The cat is very nervous and so I am reluctant to subject it to any stress.
Mind you it has its...

Toilet Paper Eater by
Jan Harris
Yes, my Rusty eats the stuff. He unrolls it & eats, not just plays with it. The proof is in the poop. Now, I
have to have all Scott paper hidden so he can't get to it. He does this
if there is any Kleenex tissue also. Just wondering, what would make my
3 yr old [has does this since we adopted him...

Toma won't allow the kitten.... by
Hi All,
I thought that I could pick your brains for ideas on how I can get my 12
year old female cat to accept a spayed 5 month old kitty. The kitten is
Pretty Girl (now known as Katie.). I have tried everything & Toma ( the 12
yr old.) won't even consider it. It's making me crazy! Any good ideas...

Took in Adandon Kitty, What Have I DONE??? by
Charles
I took in an abandoned kitty approx 4 months ago. She is now 6-7 months
old. I was what I thought to be a wonderful owner, purchasing several
scratching posts, giving kitty the run of the house. Did NOT have her
declawed, got her rabies and distemper vaccine, had her spayed. Now 6 weeks
after...

I have had cats for 60+ years, but this is the first tortoise shell

She seems to be not only hyperactive, but almost beserk in her racing
around and climbing anything in sight, etc....Her twin is docile by
comparison and sleeps many more hours per day.
Are tortoise shell "wired"...
