My Siamese Has IBD (Or So Was Told) by
Zaida
I need an opinion please ... 2nd, 3rd, it doesn't matter. My mind is open
to all possibilities and explanations.
I have a 12-year old Tonkinese whom I had boarded 2 weeks ago when my family
and I went out of town. I left him with a reputable vet in my area on a
Friday and picked him up the next...

Strange story...opinions please by
AJ
Hello everyone, I am posting this here because I am totally stunned,
and distraught and in need of some input from fellow animal(cat)
lovers.
I brought my 6 year old tabby in to the vet on December 17th because
she was not eating and vomitting up bile, and was basically lethargic.
after about 5...

Update by
AJ
Well I paid the vet a visit this morning. Let me tell you he was
suprised to see me! Here is his explanation.
I authorized the euthinization (SP?) on Friday. He claims that by
Saturday Abby started getting better and he felt that she had a
fighting chance. He said that he tried to call me on...

Scottish Fold kitten seems lonely or in heat! by
[email protected]
Well yesterday (6/24/07) I met up with a breeder and got a 12 week
female Scottish Fold. We're keeping her in our bedroom (which is
plenty cozy, has everything she needs), but she doesn't want to leave
under the bed unless she has to. When she's under there all she does
is meow and meow and meow;...

How can you love some cats, but not all? by
KellyH
Someone I volunteer with is anti-TNR. She knows that I am strongly pro-TNR.
Her main argument is that ferals destroy the wildlife, particularly
songbirds. I, and another volunteer who does TNR, have gone round and round
about this and have come to that "agree to disagree" point.
Today she comes...

Small Animal Clinical Nutrition book / Mark Morris Institute by
Karen M.
Just an FYI -
I purchased the SACN, 4th edition recently for some research. A few
interesting things popped out (okay, one I checked on Google):
1. Mark Morris Institute (publisher and contributor) is an arm of Hill's
Pet Nutrition (http://www.vet.ksu.edu/index/awards/2002/frey.htm).
2. An...

Air Travel With Cat by
Cat Protector
I might be going to a cat show in Las Vegas with my cat Isis and was
wondering if anyone had any tips on how to travel with her by air. I have
read it isn't good to tranquilize a cat for air travel since it could be
problematic. I have also read that bringing the cat as carry-on and being
able to...

OT - sp. - was Cat Protector at it again by
PawsForThought
From: "Cathy Friedmann"
Hint for spelling "their": it starts w/ "the", just as "there" does. (I
have to have little tricks like this, since I teach gr. 3; but they work for
adults, too. g)
Good hint, Cathy. I'll have to remember this one :)

Cat Drowned In Pool by
Tlg064
Just came home from work and decided to go in the pool and found one of my cats
floating in the water. A heartbreaking and horrifying sight. She was a stray I
took in 6 or seven years ago and getting up there in age and having a little
trouble walking. I cant bear the thought of the cat...

Food for flat nosed cat? by
Karen M.
I was asked about this by a woman I know who adopted a flat-nosed
Himalayan (sp?). Is there a particular kind of bowl or food that is best
for such a cat? He has a harder time eating his food. She just got the
Royal Canin for Persians, but I don't know if that is for Persians due
to their flat...

Cat women turn me off by
[email protected]
I just saw a little news blip about how women are
attracted to "cat guys" (guys who like/love cats and
have them as pets). I thought I'd drop in and comment.
First of all, I'm a guy who loves babies (most of 'em
anyway; I ain't too crazy about bratty, ugly ones), puppies...
and cute things in...

Advice Please: Stray Kitten by
Searcher7
I found a stray kitten near my house. I couldn't leave it outside.(A
half hour after I took the kitten in a guy across the street who likes
to bring his Pitbull outside to roam without a lease early in the
morning came out).
The Kitten, which is about as big as my hand, was unsteady and had a
lot...

Bathroom cat on the porch by
Charlie Wilkes
The bathroom cat is on the porch in the pet porter, which is the
large-dog size and should be reasonably comfortable. I investigated
weekend vet options in the area and none were acceptable, so the cat
is parked there until tomorrow a.m.
I didn't want to risk opening the door to put a litter box...

Cruel to be kind? by
Vee
Okay. I feel like a monster.
The Phantom , alias Trotsky, alias The Sleeping Policeman, was a local stray
who decided he would risk life and limb and the terrors of the unknown by
sneaking into the house to devour our cat's food.
The Phantom was a sleek, rumbustuous tom cat, grey of fur and...

Why the tiger almost killed Roy. by
kaeli
I'm pretty sure most of you have heard of Siegfried & Roy and their
tigers. In case you haven't heard, one of the tigers finally mauled
their "trainer" Roy.
(BTW, I am very against "training" wild animals to perform for human
amusement)
So, from the "take a lesson" department - the reason the...

THEY'RE HERE! THE KITTENS ARE HERE TONIGHT
I came home from work, chatted with Lucy and started to look for
Jupiter.
I heard 3 or 4 Jupiters saying.. "meeee meeee meeee" lol
I had to find them! No, I hadn't made her a box yet... I had no idea
she was ready to give birth,
She crawled up in my box...

Which human foods can cats eat? by
Newbie
Which human foods can cats eat? Not as exclusive diet, but once in a
while, without harming their health.
A casual glance at our fridge shows: cooked shrimp, baked chicken, ham,
bacon, sausage, canned tuna, salmon. Oh, and I just scambled some eggs
for myself.
All of this is non-vegetable. Can...
