Jessie's Blood Test Results by CatNipped
Her T3s look fine and there is no other indication of thyroid problems, her BUN and creatinin levels are perfect. The only abnormality was a low white blood cell count. This is ominous because it's the second time within a year that she's had a low white blood cell count (the last time was back...

Sasha is home by meow
Sasha came home Monday afternoon with a BUN of 78. He said it was not a low as he would like but hopes being home will make a difference in her since he saw how she perks up when I visited. Dr. gave a lesson on giving her subQ's and she gets 100ml twice a day. She was so HAPPY to be home and back...

Hot Spots by lj
My dog recently got these scaly spots on his back. At first they start off just brown but then they get kind of blackish and bleed a little. I have taken him to the vet and they gave me some shampoo but it doesn't seem to be working. Anyone have any experience with this?

getting Sasha to eat by meow
Sasha is doing well and he blood work on Thursday showed her BUN to be down to 53. Dr and I both were very happy to see that. He reduced her fluids to 100ml every other day and after this bag is finished I am bringing her in for another test to see how she did with the lower amount. He emphasized...

Cats and rubber mulch by Brad Stone
Hi there, I have 3 kitties at home and I recently built them an outdoor cat enclosure (with a cat-door leading back inside my house). They love the enclosure, but two of my cats eat the grass growing inside the enclosure - which makes them sick later. So I'm thinking of getting rid of the grass...

Very Worried about boy - tumor or anal gland issue by Meagain
Tonight I noticed something slightly amiss with my neutered male's rear. Nothing major, just more 'obvious' somehow. I checked and see there was some rawness to the side of the anus. I thought to myself "ok" maybe just some odd injury, etc. But when checking further, there's a largeish hard mass...

cat suddenly limping - how long can wait before going to vet by [email protected]
Hello, my cat suddenly started not using one of his hind legs. One minute he was fine, then suddenly, seemingly without any obvious event like a failed jump or sharp object or something, he started not using his leg. I can't see any obvious injury or swelling. I would like to keep vet costs...

Cat has red nose by Teddy
My 7 year old female cat, Dirty Face has red showing thru her white fur on her nose. Last Aug. when I took her for her annual shots I mentioned it to the vet. He said to put Neosporin on it. It didn't help. Then it was just red between the eyes now it's down her nose. What on earth could cause...

The Short Hairs by guynoir
I awoke this morning to the smell of cat ****. It wasn't from the litter box in the bathroom, either, but from the cat who'd just joined me in bed with a turd woven into his butt hair. As disgusting as that was, it was even more disgusting to realize that in a few hours, that turd would be gone...

Friskies Hairball Remedy vs Petromalt by teri
Anyone use the Friskies Hairball treats regularly and have any comments? I would like to keep Jewel lubricated so the hair passes thru more easily and she doesn't slowly back up. Use the petromalt now, two to three times a week, how about changing to the Friskies which she will eat readily? Teri
