cat fakes limp? by [email protected]
hi folks, my cat seems to be faking a sporadic limp ever since she was introduced to my girlfriend's dog. i am not positive she is faking it, but she only exhibits the limp very occasionally, and only when the dog is in close proximity. it is very odd to watch, she will have this exaggerated limp...

Kitten moving question for Feral cat by lsnider59
4 weeks ago a co-worker found a momma cat and 4 kittens in an abandon gas pump used for parts. She moved them once we knew they were there, but I started feeding her and she is waiting on breakfast at 8 and supper at 5 everyday and I better not be late or I miss her. She has gotten to the point...

Can Kidney failure come on fast? by [email protected]
I know this is too late to ask as Kira died on Thursday. But I am still stunned and trying to figure out how we missed it. She was diagnosed with Immune mediated anemia, and treated successfully for it. Back in August, her bloodwork was back to normal, her weight back up, and her activity back to...

strange bump on kitten by Lynne
So I just found a litte bump on Levi, on his skin hear his shoulder. It feels like a mosquito bite, but the skin is not even the least bit pink. There is also no wound, not even a tiny pin prick. The bump moves with his skin, so I'm not too worried, but I'm curious if anyone has any ideas...

Cat safe 'pesticides' by Callie & Coie's Dad
Good morning, Does anyone happen to know of an 'organic', cat-safe ant spray? They are becoming a very unwelcome nuisance on the back screen room. I sprinkled some Bayer granules on the outside but probably need something more direct contact. Thanks.

hyperthyroidism in cats by [email protected]
I took my cat, Willie in to see why he is licking and chewing his belly excessively. They did blood work and an echocardiogram because the vet heard a heart murmur. Heart murmur was mild but blood work shows hyperthyroidism. His levels are 12.5 ug/dl and the normal range for this lab is 1.5 to...

Automatic cat feeder for going on holiday by Chris
Can anyone suggest an automatic cat feeder that would be suitable for when going on holiday for a week? We tried a cattery - but the cat hated it - wouldn't eat - and cried pitifully when collected. He used to fend for himself before he adopted us - and loves freedom. We've been away for a...

Flehming Reaction: Cause? by Tony R
After some googling (and Wikipedia-ing), we realized that our cat is "flehming." He's done it several times at one particular spot in the bed. The weird thing is: 1) there's obviously no urine there, and 2) we have no female cats (or any other pets, for that matter). Is there any other possible...

Question
Older cat, puzzling set of symptoms ... thoughts? (long, sorry!) by purpleprose
Hi all, it's my first post here on the boards. I just thought I'd post about my 14-year-old cat Sunny. It's quite a long story but I'll keep it as short as possible. She's had pain in her legs for a while which several vets have put down to arthritis, which makes it very hard for her to climb or...

Abnormal Vomiting in Older Cat by Murph
Murphy is a 12.5 year old shorthaired brown tabby. As he has become a true senior cat, he has produced a hairball on the average of one a week, despite brushing. His health has always been very good. He had a benign fatty tumor removed from behind one of his front legs almost two years ago. So...

Clyde Antibiotics day 1: Life! by [email protected]
Clyde has already gained a lot of energy I think what really helped was the water they put under his skin. But the day we got back from the vet he started eating occasionally but this Sunday morning before we left I gave him a little food and when we came back it was gone. All day today he has been...

Love our pets by Lina
As an animal lover I have owned all kind of pets. I had perrots, dogs, rabbits and cats. My experience with pets have taught me to be nonjudmental and more forgiving to others. While people who keep their cats clawed are many, there are also countless people who prefere their cat with no claws. ...

Flying 2 Cats in One Crate Cargo by KittiKat
Hi All, I am flying on WestJet with my two cats, who must go in the animal cargo hold, due to their size. The flight is going to be about 6 1/2 hours from airport to airport (this includes one stop, with no change of plane for 30 minutes). The cats get along very well, and sleep in the same crate...
