Pics: cats and cards and art by
Marina
Here's Caliban snoozing by the kitchen sink. It's a favourite hang-out
for him. Don't ask me why, you'd think it would be hard and
uncomfortable. It does get quite warm when the dishwasher underneath is
running, though. And he can keep an eye on the fridge. You know, in case
I try to sneak out...

Report - self-cleaning litterbox by
EvelynVogtGamble(Divamanque)
As I mentioned in a previous post, my breother gave me (us?)
a Littermaid for Christmas. The cats have adapted well,
other than a couple of initial incidents with Melisande. She
had gotten in the habit of parking with all four feet in the
old box, but the "business end" hanging just enough...

Saving Michael Vick's victims by
Kreisleriana[_3_]
This pit bull rescue, BADRAP, in the Bay Area, has been given custody of
several of the pit bulls from Michael Vick's "establishment" and has
documented their further-- very positive-- adventures. They have three
slide shows showing the dogs in the process of evaluation, transportation,
and...

Speaking of Neutered Cats! ; by
CatNipped[_2_]
For a kitten that has none at all, Archer sure acts like he's got cojones
the size of grapefruits. This is a video of 11 pound Archer (aka Little Big
Balls) playing (rough) with 20 pound Sammy (aka The Samazon). She is the
one doing all the yelling, but don't worry, they do this all the time and...

Fungus is home.... by
[email protected]
I collected Fungus Ferret this morning. :o)
He was neutered, microchipped and vaccinated yesterday and came
through surgery very successfully and the RSPCA Instector came over
last night so that I could fill out the adoption paperwork.
Don't get me started on the Inspectors attitude to my *fat...

50 Connecticut cats face possible euthanasia (TW) by
[email protected]
A woman in Connecticut set up a homegrown cat rescue, rented a large
barn to keep them in, but then fell behind on rent. (It doesn't say
why, I can only assume it's because she can't really afford it.) Also,
it turns out that the barn is not zoned for animal rescue. She has
*four* days to clear out...

So excited - picking up Star by
Susan M[_3_]
Hi the
Going in 45 minutes to get Star and take him to his new home. As you
know, Sarah seems like a lovely person and she is also very excited.
While buying cat food today, I admit that I bought a few toys and treats
for Star to help him adapt to his new house. I'm living vicariously...

A Friend Adopted a Cat by
jmcquown
Long distance, no less. I don't know how he found out about this cat but
it's another one of those "about to be PTS for no good reason" situations.
He learned about her predicament and got in touch with the shelter in
Alabama that had her.
Ridiculously enough, they wouldn't accept his credit card...

Now with Gravy by
Yowie
For at least the last 15 years, I have bought canned gooshy food. In that
time, I have probably bought every brand there is that comes in a 400g can,
even experimenting with the pouches for a little while. But in those 15 or
so years, I have learnt the best value for money, what food is likely...

More Star shelter pics by
Susan M[_3_]
These are the pictures from yesterday. They're not very good - used my
portable camera - but you can see his velveteen fur pretty well. Can't
see his golden eyes though.

Repost about Melba's surgery by

Hi the
I replied in an old thread to Tweed about her concerns about the spleen
removal and thought I'd stick it in a new thread. I'm horrified for my
brother and SIL:

The Importance Of Viewing Skin Cancer Pictures by
[email protected]
Each year, in the United States, a large number of men and women are
diagnosed with skin cancer. Although most cases of skin cancer can be
treated, there are times when skin cancer can become fatal. To treat
skin cancer, it is important that it is diagnosed in the early stages.
The longer skin...

Litter choice by
Outsider
Up until the time I had Frank and Lyle move in with me I used standard clay
litter. I had one open litter box filled with a 3 or so inches. It worked
well and Zak left most of the litter in the pan. The new boys made quite a
mess so I bought the enclosed boxes which they seem to really like...
