rope-like line up back of each thigh by
Lyne
My 5-month old kitten (Ava) has a rope-like line running up the back
of each thigh. It almost feels like a tendon but I think I felt a
scabby or rough area at one end. These lines are about 4 inches long
and feel like the thickness of maybe 4 strands of uncooked spaghetti.
She was found at 4-5...

Upper Respiratory Infection - HELP - I'm DESPERATE! by
desiree
I've had my cat for almost 2 months now. She's about 9 months old and
has been congested since I got her. She's extremely congested and
wheezes, but other than that, she's fine! She runs around, eats,
drinks, uses the litter box - all normally. She's been to the vet a
few times and is currently...

cat starting to lick by
mooviefan
I have a question that hopefully someone might be able to answer. I
have a female tabby about 2 years old, that has in the last month
developed a need to lick my hands every time she sits on my lap.
She gets a little obsessed with it at times, and while it's not a
great inconvenience, I'm wondering...

traits of different groups of domestic cats by
HUDAV847
I'm wondering if Tuxedo cats (specifically, the females) are known for any
particular traits as a whole?
For example, two that I have heard of and witnessed with prior cats:
Female tortoiseshells (nearly all of them) being aloof.
Male orange tabbies being major love bugs.
Thanks in advance!

Update - Husband With Allergies by
Mary
Thanks to all who gave great advice last week.
My husband went to an allergist, and it turns out that although he's
slightly allergic to the cats, he's much more allergic to dust mites
and pollen. The doc gave him a prescription for something, and it
seems to be working fine. I hope everyone who...

Cat shoots lightnings with her tail by
G.K. Konnig
Is this normal or is my cat a dangerous alien from outer space?
Because my other cat only breathes fire and cannot shoot lightnings.

Picking a new vet by
Warren O
Hi,
I've never had to look for a veterinarian. Now that our Georgia has CRF,
we would like to find one closer to us, possibly one that has weekend
hours, too.
What questions do you ask when looking for a vet, or is it all trial and
error? Word of mouth would be a good place to start, but most of...

Cat in heat question by
KellyH
My foster cat Beetle came to us with 3 kittens at 10 days old. The kittens
are now 8 weeks old, and Beetle went back to the shelter so her milk can dry
up before she is spayed. She's been at the shelter for a few days now, and
yesterday and today I observed her displaying "in heat" type behavior,...

IAMs 7+ year old cat food? by
John Doe
I looked around on the package of IAMs "7+ year old" cat food and did not
see a description. Well, now that I think of it, they probably have a web
site, hopefully that would be on it.
But just in case they do not.
What is that food for? Apparently for 7+ year old cats. My problem is that
I want...

SO Angry! by
Kalyahna
Okay. So I get home from work today, looking forward to having a functioning
kitchen light for the first time in a couple of months. I was a little
confused because it was a ceiling fan, not a replacement of the fluorescent
thing that had been up there. And then I looked around and notice...

Making old cat & young cat get along? by
Robotech_Master
I have a fat, oldish, spayed female cat, whose chief hobby is sitting
on the window ledge and hissing and growling at any of the
neighborhood strays that wander by.
The neighbors have an adorable half-grown gray and white Siamese.
Recently, the neighbors have moved out, and it looks as though...

Help Introducing New Cats by
Harvey Sprayberry
I have a 5 year old cat and a 12 year old small dog. The cat is very
compatible with dogs and my dog is fairly cat tolerant, meaning she
mostly tries to pretend we don't have a cat.
My sister is no longer able to take care of her two cats, one 3 and the
other 5. My wife and I have agree to take...

Help! Cat not eating! by
EmpowerPR
My 18 year old cat has cancer. Several months ago he went through an operation
to remove a cancerous growth on his abdomen. While we were hopeful that we had
"gotten it all," 2 weeks ago we noticed another growth in the same area and so
booked him for another operation.
The operation happened last...
