Jet / Potjie; one month on by
Tish Silberbauer
Potjie has been with my father now for about a month, so I thought I'd
give y'all a quick update as to how it's going.
The short answer: really, really well.
The longer answer: Potjie has utterly charmed my father and is setting
about training him. My father is thoroughly enjoying having...

[OT] an avian visitor by
John F. Eldredge
I went for my first physical therapy session today (the therapist
diagnosed neck cramp brought on by years of bad posture, and will be
training me in a series of exercises to correct the problem as much as
possible). The building was overheated, so the therapist propped a
door to the outside open....

NewsHound. Then I'll have to cough up $30 or find something else. I'm
using it with Outlook and Mailgate with a Sprint card connection to...

Emergency purrs please... by
Helen Miles
Please could HRFL have some emergency purrs?
He sneaked out of the house this evening without me knowing and was
chased by the neighbours dog. He has now gone missing and despite
looking for the last 2 hours we can't find him anywhere. I am absolutely
distraught.
Please, please send good thoughts...

Charlie's new person by

Well, it seems that Charlie has adopted a new person. I sent him to
live with a Melanie, her husband and daughter of two years old. He has
known Melanie for years now. But it is her husband he is adopting. Her
husband has become his new love. Not that he won't come out for Melanie
and even be...

I think I've created a monster by
Sandy
....or maybe two. I never used to give the cats treats, mostly because
Sundance's delicate digestive system is easily upset by new foods. However,
someone gave me a bag of cat treats for Christmas, so I've been handing them
out occasionally.
The other day was the first day I actually called both...

Clumping Litter - NOT by
Bill Stock
We started to have trouble with one of the Litter Boxes not clumping, all
the litter was damp. So we took it out of service for a cleaning and now one
of the other boxes seems to be showing the same symptoms. So is it the
Litter or does one of the cats have very acidic urine?

Wet Kitten Alert! by
[email protected]
Well, kittens are kittens, you know, which means they are sometimes a
bit lacking in the smarts department.
Kate and Jack, in addition to the above, are also fascinated with
water. They're in the tub, the sink, back to the tub, back to the
sink. They get water all over their little paws and...

The Whisker Jar by
Julie Cook
I was asked about my whisker jar recently. I keep cat whiskers because
I very rarely find them and consider it a good omen when I do. I seem to
remember that several of us here keep whiskers when we find them. When
I started this however, the question was what to keep them in. I live
just...

St. Paddy's Day: Don't Forget by
Kreisleriana
It's St. Patrick's Day, so I will pass on to all of you my dear Irish
grandmother's strict admonition for the day:
"Don't forget to go to City Hall to get your @$$ painted green."
When I was younger, I used to imagine this as a rather solemn civic
event, with lines going round the corners into...
