goopy eye by jmc
First - it doesn't seem to be an emergency, and it's Sunday, and I'll make an appt with the vet tomorrow. But for now: Meep (14 yr old spayed female moggie) has a tendency to have a runny eye. Had it for years, on and off, vet says "probably allergies". She's not being treated for it at...

Twin (my stalker cat) has a home! by Candace
I wrote about him a few weeks ago. A stray that showed up months ago but only wanted to eat here and wouldn't let us touch him. We let him do that and then, a few weeks ago, he became Mr. Friendly one day out of the blue and wouldn't leave me alone. I couldn't step outside without him following...

Teen Kills Kitten in Oven; Faces 10-Year Sentence by Usenet Legends bobandcarole ¢À
Teen Kills Kitten in Oven; Faces 10-Year Sentence This is one kid who really needs my boot up her ass. On June 3, ASPCA Humane Law Enforcement Agents arrested Cheyenne Cherry, a 17-year-old resident of the Bronx, for allegedly killing a two-month-old kitten by burning her to death in an oven. In...

neck problems by inluvwith4cats
Hi everyone! I have a cat that is 14 years old and we noticed last night that she walking funny and her head was hanging down looking at the floor the whole time. We don't really notice if she has been eating or drinking water before this but I have been lifting the water bowl up for her so she...

Swollen glands -- neck area by Rhonda
Just wondered if anyone else has had a cat with swollen glands (or lymph nodes) in the neck area. Sweeter's glands on either side, right under the end of the jaw bone, are huge. We've had her on antibiotics but they've gotten bigger. We're waiting for test results to see if this is an infection...

Sammy's too big... by CatNipped
for her bed! Health: She certainly is a healthy girl! Behavior: *WHY* does she insist in sleeping in a bed two sizes too small for her. We have 6 other cat beds in the house, at least 4 of which would hold her more comfortably! ; http://www.possibleplaces.com/CatNipped/Too_Big_Two/

Kitten peeing in her bed? How do I stop this? by Eden
My husband and I acquired a 4 week old kitten a few days ago. I am in the process of trying to litter train her, which is proving difficult. She seems to have a thing for towels (I think?) I have been making her a bed with towels, and she keeps peeing on it. I also put a towel on her litterbox...

Little bump on eyelid? by Pidge
My cat has a little dark brown bump where his eyelid is. It's not near the tearduct and doesn't cause any pain. It's very hard to see, as it's practically buried in his fur. Has anyone ever heard of this before? ------------- To send email, replace "antispam" with "sympatico" JOA DVD Boxed Set,...

First time Summer Grooming by Sylvia M[_5_]
I'm a first time poster, and need your advice... Would it be wise, or too dangerous, to have my 9 year old long haired cat professionally shampooed, Summer-lion-cut, and nails clipped? Might it be too traumatic, since she's never even had a bath, hates to have us clip her nails and has never been...

Nuetering by Brad
I didn't do a search on this particular topic because I wanted the most up to date information. I will be calling some professionals also but I wanted to hear your comments on what age to fix a male kitten. My breeder is willing to keep him (my Siberian kitten) and have him nuetered for me but it...

Wet & Dry Food by LauraM[_2_]
A little over a month ago, I started giving my beloved main coon, Hobbes, some wet food along with his TD dry food. I've been giving him half a can in the morning and half a can in the evening with dry food in between. Physically he looks great! His coat is shiny, alert, eyes are clear, and he's...

My cat has suddenly lost his meow by fuzzyhusseyandtimersmom
My poor lil fuzzy boy has lost his meow. He purrs fine and is normal every other way but when he tries to meow nothing comes out. At least not much more than a squeak or a strained sound barely audible. Its not laryngitis because he has no cough or swelling in his throat. Anyone have any thoughts...

Too many stray animals by John Doe
What does your city do about stray animals? I was just told by our "dog pound" that they are short on space. My guess is that they never have enough space. Can the city put a tax on businesses/individuals that sell animals? Maybe they could dedicate that tax revenue to a catch-neuter-release...

Vet can't diagnose our cat. by Mac Cool
I'm going to skip the long story and tell the symptoms, maybe someone can help point me in a direction. Six year old tom cat, fixed and overweight. He's been panting a bit getting around the house lately which I chalked up to his weight (he is on a vet prescribed diet and has been losing...

Newbie here...thanks in advance if any of you can answer my questions about distemper. Stopped at the local humane society today and fell in love with an adorable 16 week kitten. He's alert and lively and a little purr-machine. HOWEVER, the shelter worker said he and his two brothers were born...
