Abelard has fattened up by Pat[_4_]
For him, getting fattened up means returning to what his weight ought to be. Well, he's there! 14+ months after his illness during which he barely touched food and lost half his body weight, I feel safe in saying that he's fully recovered. His 7th birthday is Monday, July 27th.

I had a nightmare by Pat[_4_]
I'm almost afraid to go to sleep again after last night... There was some sort of ghoul trying to drag me away by my neck... I woke up in a state of abject terror with my heart pounding. Can't remember the last time that happened - if it ever has. Thankfully I had a bedful of cats to bring me back...

Nico, the tub, and Mr. Toothbrush by dgk
Some very odd things end up becoming fun games with cats. I used to live in an apartment that had a combined shower/tub. And I used one of those cheap plastic shower curtains, which had developed a rip just about the same height as the edge of the tub. Nico, long departed, wasn't repelled by...

Sad Day by Jofirey
For the last several weeks I've had a robin's nest just outside my office window. I've been worried the whole time about the cats getting into it, or even the squirrels. Its a large nest and out near the end of a branch so it wouldn't hold the weight of a cat. But nearer the ground than I...

You've had enough, Meowmie! by Joy
I eat my lunch sitting in my recliner, with my feet up. I usually stay there for a while afterward, reading and/or working crossword puzzles. Once in a while I fall asleep. I may sleep for 10 or 15 minutes, but occasionally it can be 3 or 4 hours. Often one of the cats will jump into my lap...

Trying to make peace by Mark Edwards
Usually, Little Boy and Apache try to stare each other down, and often end up hissing at each other. Today, Apache was napping on the bed. Little Boy gingerly approached her, and leaned in to sniff her. When she didn't jump up to threaten to remove his face, he started washing her head. Awww!...

A sort of LOLcat by [email protected]
I had to make a LOLCat out of that picture of Caliban "wearing lipstick". I hope you don't mind, Marina! It's not regular LOLcat format, with the outline font, etc. I just used an image editor and added some text: http://home.sonic.net/~jwermont/misc/animals/misc_cat_pics/whats_it_to_ya.jpg It's...

First Four Daffodils by Bev
Bonnie and Clyde spent a time sniffing the daffodils this morning. It's been a long, cold, wet winter but spring is in the air. Officially spring starts in New Zealand on 1st September but we won't be here to see it. We leave on a cruise on 25th August and will sail from Tahiti to Hawaii....

Memphis and Phoenix! by mapslave
Hello all! I am finally able to access the newsgroup. For those who have no idea what has been going on and would like to know why I have been absent so long, we have moved to Spain. We packed up the cats in a large cage and put them in the back of our people carrier along with a hell of a lot of...

OT Crime by Matthew
Even though it is a dog joke I got a chuckle Crime? It was the end of the day when I parked my police van in front of the station. As I gathered my equipment, my K-9 partner, Jake, was barking, and I saw a little boy staring in at me.

OT Ten Guidelines for Enlightenment by Matthew
Ten Guidelines for Enlightenment 1. Be a Fundamentalist--make sure the Fun always comes before the mental. Realize that life is a situation comedy that will never be canceled. A laugh track has been provided, and the reason why we are put in the material world is to get more material. Have a good...

Sergeants Herbal Flea Treatment by tanadashoes
We don't know if this works yet. I only know that I'm allergic to it. I can live with that if it works. The cats were none too pleased with smelling like lemon verbena or whatever the main ingredient is, but they've become accustomed to it, more or less. I can tell you that the house stank...

Maisie's last injection. by Christina Websell
Just let's say we got it done. I sat her on my knee on the way to the vet and put her into Boyfie's wooden box when we got there because she just has no manners at all whatsoever and she barked if she thought she could even see a dog and screamed at them and scrabbled at my lap. I have no idea...
