MFS wrote: Hello, everyone - I am trying to coordinate the relocation of a cat in the Southeastern U.S. to the Midwestern U.S. I do not live in either area, although I will be onsite when the cat is picked up from its current home. I'm Googling madly for pet transport services, both ground...

Shame, shame AOL... by -L. :
Ok, so we all know AOL sucks, but in their trailer for the new Garfield movie, they have a link that says "search for cute kittens to adopt". Nothing like promoting spur-of-the moment impulse adoptions...I only hope it links to reputable sources - I didn't look. :p -L.

Catfood prices... by -L. :
....here (Portland, OR) have gone through the roof! Dog food as well. I tried to buy some Nutro - $7.98 for a 3 lb bag - $2.66/lb. Freaking ridiculous. Royal Canin was $9.88/3 lbs. I'm going to switch my cats to Purina One if they will eat it - based on past experience they probably won't. The...

Lost Himmie found by -L. :
The kitty that my neighbors lost has been found - almost 3 weeks after he disappeared! He was quite far from where he was lost - someone spotted him and his owner was able to coax him to her. Yay! -L.

stupid, stupid neighbor by -L. :
Today I see a sign on the community mailboxes that says my neighbor across the street was babysitting his friend's Himmie, and it has gone missing. They let the cat OUTSIDE and "now he hasn't come back for two nights in a row". The sign asks for any info. It has *poured* rain here (Portland, OR)...

P-ing Sherry ringworm by -L. :
Didn't you once post something about the shelter using Program to treat ringworm? I think you once posted the dosage and it differed from what I have been using, but I can't find it in the archive. Help...?!? I have to treat Peewee again - he has a spot on his toe again - I'm thinking this will...

Peewee update - knocking on wood by -L. :
Thanks to those who have followed my boy's trials and tribulations over the past months - I have been meaning to post - he's doing wonderfully! Back to original weight, eating like a pig, no hairball issues currently. He's still got something weird going on with his stool - not sure he doesn't...

Any special care tips for a declawed cat? Sensitive toes normal? by -Lost
Any special care tips for a declawed cat? Sensitive toes normal? Our newest addition to the family has had his front toes removed (yeah, declawed, but we all know what that means). He seems to be really sensitive about them and I am not sure if there is any real problem or if I am over...

Scarlet saves her kittens from a fire. And more. by -Lost
1. Amazing Animal Rescues 2 on Fox's Reality Channel today is showing something that just choked me up so badly I had to share (even though it is from 1997 so some of you may have heard it already). A mother cat continually returned to an abandoned and rapidly burning building to save her...

Identify Gabby for me, please? by -Lost
http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/7962/gabbyresizedzi7.jpg Based on the location and the overpopulation of cats in this area I am guessing she is a mutt. But I would love ANY ideas as to what she could be. Then I can tell my redneck cousin she is not mixed with raccoon. Although I doubt...

I need your sagely advice and wisdom again, people. Declaw or not declaw, that is my question. by -Lost
After talking with my friend at the animal hospital for the thousandth time today, they started mentioning some other things that I should have done before officially calling Gabby "good to go." 1. Get her spayed - of course, this is already planned. 2. "ridder of critters" they said. ...

Any tips for bathing a kitty without being mauled? by -Lost
Gabby, our new kitty, is NOT fond of water. I mean, she hates it so much I am surprised we do not have to feed her through an IV. Anyway, to get her bathed without being mauled I wrap her and a bottle of shampoo together with duct tape, throw her in the bathtub, and agitate it with a broom so...

What is it with kitty's belly that makes her attack? by -Lost
OK, attack is a rather strong word, because she IS playing, but when you have itty-bitty SUPER SHARP kitten teeth and claws, gentle playing becomes "peeling kitty's claws out of your hand." We do a lot of "touch therapy" with our animals and the new kitten is no exception. She can get...

Do cats have a predisposition toward hating dogs? by -Lost
I wondered if cats have a predisposition toward hating or maybe not getting along with dogs? Otherwise, I think the stray kitten we found may have had some hard times with the jerk stray mutts in this neighborhood. -- -Lost Remove the extra words to reply by e-mail. Don't e-mail me. I am...
