of neutered males in some animals, the various biological processes of
coming into season...

[email protected]
My neutered DSH male indoor/outdoor cat seems a bit ill.
He's just 13, we live in a very rural area, and he has never
encountered another cat, nevertheless, he is up on all shots, rabies,
leuk, etc.
In the past several months, he seemed to have lost weight and was
having trouble jumping. Took...

My First Kitten by
cybercat
Those of you who have been reading the group for a while know that we lost
our beloved tuxedo girl last March to cancer, and have been giving ourselves
time to grieve before adopting another. My husband had his heart set on a
baby, but I have always adopted adults (figuring most people want...

I need help with my pet skunk by
[email protected]
http://www.skunklaw.com I am trying to rally support for laws in
Illinois to be changed. My
brother got us a pet skunk for a wedding gift. What a strange thing,
huh? After contacting my vet to get all of the appropriate shots I
learned that skunks are illegal in Illinois. As it turns out,...

Cats Winking Their Eyes by
Curse Of Millhaven
Sometimes I will wink at a cat and it will wink back, same eye. Is it
copying me, does it mean anything? Do cats communicate with people
this way? I have noticed this with lots of cats throughout the years,
my sister too. Any ideas?

2 Questions On The Menu Foods Situation by
[email protected]
1. Does anyone have a complete list off all brands that use Menu Foods
(Not just the recall list). I've unsuccessfully spent hours trying to
come up with this.
2. Does anyone know if Menu manufactures dry food? The only place i've
found anything about this is on the PETA website, & they...

Lilly the birman is feeling somewhat better, but unfortunately she
came home with a dose of the flu. Even though every single one of our
cats is inoculated against cat flu, they seem to be dropping like
flies:o(
Lilly is on antibiotics, & I have an appointment to take Belle, the
mother of our 4...

Whaddaya say -- 20 litter boxes? by
arhooley
My 14-week-old kitten just doesn't get it. She has to be in either a
cage, or a very small room with litterbox, toys, and food, in order to
understand that we USE THE BOX and not the corner for pooping. Her
health is fine and there are no introduction problems with other cats
(she's loving my...

Is it ok to feed a variety of (canned) food? by
Ajanta
Hi everyone,
I "suspect" it would be good for nutrition to feed them a variety of
foods (all canned), but how does it work in practice with their
digestion or even psychology?
Is it ok to vary the kind from meal to meal, day to day, or should the
change come more slowly? How slowly?
Thanks....

New cat introduction - giving it another, better informed shot. by
Brian Link
When we tried adopting Henry, he was an aggressive stray tom whose
hormones were still kicking after being recently neutered. The
introduction went well for a few weeks, but after going too quickly
with the intro, and a major knock-down dragout with Louis (where Henry
was the aggressor) the...

Iain Bishop
I have to give my cat his dose of flea drops every month but he absolutely
hates it and will just run away when he realises whats going on. He
basically hates any fluid, plus the drops also seem to irritate his eyes.
I've tried various different methods of giving them to him, without any...

Sensitive stomach? (Was Innova and Diarrhea) by
Amy
Hi,
I posted a short while back about my cats suddenly developing diarrhea
(and vomiting) in reaction to their usual Innova diet. I've been since
experimenting with other brands (Burns, California natural, etc) and after
a month of this insanity, I finally try Royal Canin's formula for
Sensitive...
