scabs under chin by
lmh
My 16 year old cat suddenly has scabs under his chin, doesn't seem to hurt
his eating but looks terrible. Any idea on what could be causing this would
be appreciated.

Savannah, GA by
Troye
I have two cats, one 7yr old Maine Coon and one 5yr old orange tabby
(both neutered males). I have an eight month old son who has
developed allergies, and I am looking for placement for our two cats.
We will not use any service that euthenizes animals. Both cats are
declawed in the front. Both...

Last night I caught him squatting RIGHT after I cleaned the litter box
(about two hours after) in the 4 foot area that he has destroyed in our
living room with his urine. I feel that he MUST have known he...

running out of cat food choices by
KC
Hi everyone
I have three adult cats and they seem to be getting sick of eating the
regular wet brand canned cat food. I don't blame them, its like a big
blob of paste.
I know that they will eat the shredded beef & chicken types- Fancy
Feast offers a shredded chicken but unfortunately I'll go...

Returning my cats to the UK from Canada by
Steve
I'm returning to the UK soon after living in Canada for four years and
I wish to take my cats with me. Following advice from a vet in Canada
I had them both microchipped and a rabies vaccine done with the view
to having a second rabies jab done six months afterwards. Now, after
speaking to...

Request for advice: 30 too late to become a vet? by
Drue
Hi.
I'm 30 and am thinking seriously about starting a second career as a
veterinarian. For the past ten years, I have enjoyed a fairly
lucrative career as a software engineer, but now I am very serious
about changing my line of work as I don't want to be in the computer
business my entire life. ...

Reprieve for the puma by
Fritti
Well, they had until today to capture the kittie alive, but so far no new sightings have occurred. However, there have been reports that came with quite detailed descriptions, so the, as it is called, "puma-team" from the Pantera institute, has gotten two more days to try and capture the puma....

Renal failure in younger cats by
Kelly Greene
In searching around the web and looking at a cat memorial... the number of
cats dying of renal failure is shocking. Years ago when I worked in an
animal hospital in the city, this was a disease of old cats. Now I see
people losing much younger animals to this disease. Anyone have any idea
why...

Removing cat odor by
D Holloway
Is there any real way to get rid of Cat odor? We just bought the house
from a cat owner and 1 room (where the cat lived) is rank with odor.
We've tried some things from the hardware store and petstore, but the
smell comes back within days of applying. Should we just change out the
carpet and...

Recommended Window Cat Doors? by
C. Andrews La Varre
Been googling around, see several.
I've got an upstairs window with an old fashioned storm window. He's
been crawling under the storm window and in through the open sash all
summer. But times have changed.
I'm willing to leave the storm window adjusted out, but not to leave the
sash open.
The...

Recommend a Siberian breeder? by
[email protected]
I have friends, a couple, who are both severely allergic to most cats.
They would adopt if it were practical, but their allergies go nuts the
second they even walk into a shelter.
They researched the reportedly less-allergenic breeds and visited with
two Siberian breeders and one Devon Rex breeder...
