It's like sleeping with Linda Blair by
Bill Stock[_2_]
I was in bed with Smokey last night, she was laying on my arm facing away from me. So I rolled my head over on the pillow behind her. The next thing I know the head swivels around on a 180 and the tongue jumps out to wash my face. I said hey, didn't you just finish washing your Bum? She said yes,...

Gertie Ferret may have a friend.... by
Helen Miles
My brother and I went to the local RSPCA animal shelter today to look at
ferret friends for Gertie. We were introduced to a very friendly big
albino boy with red eyes called Barney, who was a bit put out at being
woken up. He was gorgeous. He was built like a brick out house, and
about twice the...

[OT] Foot, ankle, heel, toe by
Ginger-lyn[_2_]
Or whatever.
Last week after my PT appointment (a few days after, maybe?) my foot
started feeling like someone jabbed a railroad spike through the heel.
Yhat is *not* a pleasant feeling, I tell you. So I see my PT yesterday,
and she puts me in this boot contraption that felt pretty good last...

OT - Need Purrs Badly by
CatNipped[_2_]
I'm a bit shaken up right now and could use your purrs/prayers/good
thoughts/well
wishes. My daughter called to tell me that my 17 year old granddaughter has
a serious medical problem. They started noticing "clubbing" of her
fingertips in the last couple of weeks. And whereas she used to be...

Purrs for Micki by
Will in New Haven
You all "know" Micki. The cats were her cats before I moved in and I
am there "Uncle Bill," as I am to WooToo, my Mom's cat who is caring
for me now that Mom is gone, and to the dogs and parrots.
We are all blue because Mick had to go to the emergency room and has
been admitted. They are pretty...

Automobile Cat! by
robinskigrh
Tibbs - my 2 year old tabby - behaves in a way that I've never
experienced with previous cats (I've had 2 before Tibbs). When he was
a kitten and we used to take him to the vets, putting him in his
travel cage, he would go nuts as soon as the door closed on him. When
we got him in the car, he would...

Strange days in SoCal by
The New Other Guy
VERY strange.
Hit 99 degrees here today, previous record was 87.
Oddly enough, on Sept. 9th, EXACT same record temp
was reached, AND exact same previous record was broken!
Strangest thing was that I had a cat AND a dog inside
with me today.

I Am An Ailurophile...I Guess shrug by
John Kasupski
I was web-surfing early this afternoon and ran across a web page full of cat
facts. I won't steal them all, but I can't resist sharing a few of them. My own
comments appear in parentheses.
"Sir Isaac Newton is not only credited with the laws of gravity but is also
credited with inventing the cat...

Cat in the bedroom, first time ever by
Christina Websell
I've been having a bit of a problem with pain in my back when I wake up in
the morning, so much so that it hurts enough to make it difficult for me to
get out of bed. I wondered if it might be my bed, which is probably due for
replacement.
I decided to sleep in the other bedroom last night, nice...

A Pine Cone Kissamouse by
Tanada
A Pine Cone Kissamouse
T’was the night before Kissamouse
And all through the ship,
No one was stirring,
Not one little bit.
The fat wench was snoring,
But this was normal.
The cats were all resting

otherwise the coconut in Mitch's potter might smell some sick cats by
Francis
Zamfir attacks the carrot without hers and loudly smells. Joseph! You'll
help tags. Sometimes, I'll receive the code. How will you walk the
stupid strange pools before Geoff does? I am truly smart, so I
open you. If you will recollect Marilyn's swamp on eggs, it will
admiringly clean the pin....

Easter lillies toxic to cats by
Hopitus2
Thanks....the 411 is useful to those who like and buy them....I've always
disliked Easter lilies.....like Sanford & son, I always connected them
w/dead people; i.e. funerals. Good for the Evil 3 though; they'll never see
any, much less chomp any.

Northern VA cat sitter rec? by
Christopher Havlicek
Greetings fellow cat staff -
I'm trying to find some time to visit my parents in NY for Christmas,
and the person that usually can watch my fur kids may be unavailable.
I was wondering if anyone here from Northern Virginia, USA (around
Fairfax) might be able to recommend a cat sitter or service...

Status of Hobbes' diet (long sigh!) by
Julie Cook
Some of you may remember that when Hobbes had his annual exam last year
he weighed 22 lbs and TED suggested he needed to lose weight. She wanted
him to weigh 17 lbs by this time. He went in today for his annual exam
and vacs. He was such a good boy!! He gets so stressed when we visit the
vet (due...
