Rituals
One Eye on the Road and One on the Litter Box
By WILLIAM GRIMES
IT is a good idea, when traveling, to choose one’s fellow passengers
carefully. Unfortunately, this is not always possible. When I set out
for six weeks in...

Kitty standoff by
[email protected]
About 15 minutes ago I started making myself a late-night snack. All
3 cats came ambling into the kitchen and hung around in various poses,
all of which said, "Feed me." But they'd already had their wet food
dinner. However, when all of them are looking hungry, I figure something's
up, so I poured...

OT - back to school by
Cheryl
I know I haven't been all that visible here lately, but I read every day. I
just wanted to tell those of you who might care that I have enrolled in an
undergraduate program to start working toward a degree. Since I had Eric so
young and got married, we didn't have money for school for me, and...

The REALLY hungry Roadcat by
Dan M
Since Nancy has been out of work she has been able to tend to one of the
chores that I used to really dislike - fixing dinner. Fortunately she
tends to be more energetic than I am so we don't get stuck having nothing
but Hamburger Helper and Tuna Helper.
Last night Nancy fixed a salmon dish -...

Music (OT) by
jmcquown[_2_]
I happen to love Cyndi Lauper. Last year while going through things in this
house I found a bunch of formal gloves in a drawer. My mother had a new
ballgown every year and gloves to wear. It was the Marine Corps Ball. She
didn't keep the gowns (dammit!) but she kept the gloves. Now I have...

Mutt RB 6 Months ago today by
Kyla `=^. .^=`[_2_]
I can't believe it's been 6 months today since our darling 6 toed Mutt went
to The Bridge on his own at age 19. He was less than a year old when he
wandered into our lives and stayed. He was such a sweet kitty and he was
DH's velcro kitty, who had the loudest purr that could be heard 3 rooms...

New pictures of Georgie by
Adrian[_2_]
I went round to my aunt's this afternoon, while I was there I took two new
pictures of Georgie, who of course has claimed the bed as her own.

Persia Likes Cornbread by
jmcquown
I made some cornbread muffins. After I finished eating dinner there was
still half a muffin on my plate on the coffee table. I was watching
television. I don't know when she managed it, I sure didn't see her, but
Persia snagged that muffin! I discovered her happily munching away on the
other...

Don't worry, it's "work-safe" - but I particularly like the "fetish"

Buster in minimum security by
Takayuki
I've been keeping Buster and Dot completely separated the last week,
and I finally decided it's time to let them hear and smell each other
a little better:

I installed a screen in Buster's door, instead of keeping the door
shut all the time. ...

Pics: Mere earthworm by
Marina
It has been raining today, and the worms have crawled up from the soil
onto the paved part of my patio (why do they do that??? Why do they
leave their cosy moist soil and crawl onto hard surfaces? And when the
rain stops they shrivel up and die?). This smart worm stayed in the
crack between...

patio JO: the vet visit by
Stormmee
She doesn't have either of the two nasties, she is closer to six months...
the vet described her to me a bit more thoroughly than DH did. She is a
white long hair who can't decide what her coat should be, chocolate point
tail, flame point up her spine, blue points for ears and a seal point
mask......

Purrs please by
Karen
Pearl could use some purrs. I'm too tired to go into it right now. I
don't think it is life threatening but she is awfully uncomfortable and
some purrs would be majorly appreciated.

We Have a New Kitten by
jofirey
A bare kitten that is. My Granddaughter Emily Lin was born this morning at
6am.
Pretty easy to know what we are thankful this day.
We just got home from a quick "I've got to hold that baby" visit. She is a
perfect little doll. I know what soft skin babies have but its still a
surprise all...

UPDATE Re vets in Toronto by
Marina
Thought I'd update you on my friend's cat in Toronto. As it turns out,
he is suffering from FIV. This is apparently why he had been turned in
to the Humane Society, where my friend adopted him. The HS said nothing
about FIV, though he'd been sick while he was there, and the previous
owners had...

We rescued another fur ball by
Matthew[_3_]
http://tinypic.com/r/mwqxyb/6
We rescued another fur ball today. Her name is Ka'nyce it is a play on a
native American term where one gives their soul. She is about 6 to 7 months.
The people who had her left her and everything else when they were
foreclosed on. The neighbors found her took her...
