eye 'crumbs' by
ruff
tried finding this online but no luck...
my cat gets 'crumblike' dark bits in the corners of her eyes.
she had 3 babies 11 days ago (who are all orange, plump and gorgeous...eyes
open and more 'walking than creeping' already!)i see, though, that they now
have these crumby bits as well. doesn't...

Missing flesh on neck? by
Ryan Feeley
Our cat came home with a size of flesh missing from his neck abhout the
size of a quarter. He does not appear fazed at all and the area does
not appear sensitive to him, nor is it bleeding. We are quite concerned
about infection, and that scratching may start bleeding. It is late at
night and we...

TNR Tools: Time Lapse Photography by
guynoir
On my last feral roundup, I was holding 5 cats awaiting neutering. One
of them was ****ting on the floor and I had to figure out which one. I
borrowed the new camera from work, a Nikon Coolpix S1 which has a time
lapse photography feature. I set it for 30 seconds and left it in the
room...

Goodbye, Iams by
[email protected]
I've been buying the 6-oz cans of Iams canned food for I dunno how
long. At some point this year they changed their formula and now it's
either pellets or "flakes". My cats sort of pick at it and they are
not fussy, I tell you.
So I thought I'd try Science Diet, so I had to go out to Petsmart...

Round worms by
[email protected]
About a month ago I took in a stray, about 1/2 grown cat/kitten. Very
energetic, eats good, etc. Last nigh she vomited after eating and at
first I thought she must have found a piece of string and eaten it, then
noticed it was moving.
The cat vomited again a couple minutes later and there was...

!! Screens !! by
[email protected]
We live in an apartment complex, so this is a security deposit issue.
Big bucks. Perhaps a thousand dollars.
Our kittens are about six months old now, indoor calico kittens/cats.
They love hanging out on the screened porch, which is ground level.
They can eyeball people walking by, and listen to...

kitten found by

Ethyl has been going different directions but Sat she went to the pit
and there was a kitten! I got some zoomed in photos but only saw one.
Sunday she took off to the tracks and I saw the little one there. I
got some photos, she let me know if I got too close. The little one
then went down the...

HOW CAN i GET MY CATS TO SNUGGLE?! by
The Cat Whisperer
Reading all the sad posts makes me want to hold my cats tight... but they
are not the snuggly type!
They don't like being held, and only come to snuggle when they feel like it,
rarely!
Is there some way to encourage them to be more snuggly?
They are 7, one male and one female.

Anti-Depressants and Feral Cats by
[email protected]
Hello All,
I have a feral cat that I adopted about two years ago (she didn't
exhibit any feral tendencies when we adopted her and didn't become
aware of her situation until a couple of months after).
Anyways, about a year ago we got two kittens. Our feral cat didn't
take well to them, despite...

bathroom adventures with Levi by
Lynne
This kitten cracks me up. I put a litter box in the master bathroom when
we brought him home so I could isolate him for a while. There are 2 others
in the basement, but I still have this one up here, right next to the
toilet. Since I use Feline Pine, it actually smells good (and I scoop...

A cat that bites by
[email protected]
I am new to the group. Let me introduce Sherwood, a large 2-year-old
cream colored neutered male who I suspect is about l/8 Siamese. His
original owner, an old gentleman, became ill and the family gave away
Sherwood's three young siblings. Sherwood hid under the bed and missed
that adoption. My...

Whaddaya say -- 20 litter boxes? by
arhooley
My 14-week-old kitten just doesn't get it. She has to be in either a
cage, or a very small room with litterbox, toys, and food, in order to
understand that we USE THE BOX and not the corner for pooping. Her
health is fine and there are no introduction problems with other cats
(she's loving my...

urgent - fear of cat bite by
kitkat via CatKB.com
Yesterday I was petting my cat - he got a little annoyed and gave me a
stronger nip than usual - he took a decent bite out of my hand which was
bleeding for a while. I washed it off and put on a couple bandages. I
barely felt it so I thought little of it. Today the area of the bite is...
