Homemade catfood? by
Ken Knecht
If you are making your own cat food, what is your cat's favorite catfood?
I've been feeding raw ground turkey. At first she ate it for a few days,
then refused it. I tried again after a week and she ate only about 2/3 of
it. Next day I tried leaving the supplements - calcium, B-complex, Vit E,...

Just put "Soft Paws" on my cats by
P.D.
I just applied "Soft Paws" to 2 of my 3 cats for the 1st time today. I was
amazingly easy to do (with a little help from my wife). I was surprised at
how quickly they adjusted tot hem. They did not lick or bite at them and
have been going about their normal business for several hours now.
Good...

Tucker weight loss update by
Rene
In case you haven't been following, I started Tucker on a new, canned
food only diet to help him lose weight. (Long story short, my vet gave
me poor information and he gained 5 pounds in 8 months!)
He's been on the diet almost 6 weeks and is doing great! He's lost 1
lb. 10 oz. so far! Initially,...

Shedding Madness by
Ginni
I have a recent addition to my home (4 year old girl that I got about
3 months ago), and she's shedding EVERYWHERE! It's not just because
it's Spring; she's been shedding tons since I got her (in the middle
of winter). She is an american shorthair, but seems to have a much
thicker coat than my...

Unbelievable BS! WRT declawing from the SFVMA by
[email protected]
I am appalled. This jerk is no friend to cats and obviously has no
ethics as evidenced by his blatant promotion of lies and distortions.

KILL ALL Fleas and Earmites in One Dose? Cost? by
Doug Bashford
If I understand the ads, one dose
of Revolution will likely get rid of all
fleas and earmites in the house if
all cats are treated simultainiously?
Are there any other products that will do this?
Is this expensive? ...Like how much?
Are there any safe flea collers for inside cats??

My cat really is a bully by
Justin L
It's not just my other cat Elwood either!
I brought Jake with me over to the parents for Father's day.
Well the parents have 3 dogs, and Jake knocked the snot out of all of
them!! They tried to give him guff, but he gave them a might growl,
and boxed them into next week. He was even chasing them...

Andr0meda
Dear Megan and Mary,
Many Thanks for taking so much of your time and your trouble to help me make
my two cats friends for life.
I really appreciate all your help.
After reading your posts under "O'Malley-Hercules & Xena......." and Mary's

First of all, even before...

Kitten intestinal noises? by
KellyH
I have a litter of foster kittens, about 8-9 weeks old. I was just upstairs
playing with them, and one of the kittens was making all these digestive
noises, like gurgling sounds. I looked to see if he had anything leaking
out of his butt, didn't see anything. He was playing and acting normal. ...

Cat in Danger on Balcony Ledge? by
Rockinghorse Winner[_2_]
Martha, my 5 year old domestic long hair mix likes to hang out on the
balcony, and specifically perched on the 4 inch ledge. The ledge she
prefers is over concrete, about 12 feet to the ground. She is not calm
while hanging out on the ledge, but restless, looking over the edge like she
is...

Happy Ending for Two Cats by
Sethran
Thought I'd just post a quick message about how things turned out with
the strays I've been working with. The little black and white guy
with the severe URI went to a no kill shelter and was adopted two days
later. The brown tabby with the degloved chin and FIV finally tested
negative for FIV and...

Finding a vet by
DevilsPGD
Welp, I'm a new cat owner (3 beautiful kittens), just under 5 months old
now, and we're looking to find a vet, get them spayed/neutered (as
applicable).
A little behind schedule, long story, but nonetheless, we'll make it
happen before they go into heat.
Long story short, what questions should I...

Tiger has a tumor by
Elizabeth Blake
I brought Tiger (female, 14 1/2 years old) & Otto (male, 5 years old) to the
vet on Friday. I had felt a lump on Tiger's underside recently and wanted
to have her checked out. I had been taking her to the same vet for the past
7 years but was never really happy with him, so I decided to go to...

Catproof Christmas Lights? by
Rhino[_3_]
Is anyone familiar with some kind of indoor Christmas lights that are cat
proof? My friend would like to put lights on the tree in her condo but her
cat persists in trying to eat them. I believe she is using the LED lights.
I'm not sure if a cat could actually break one of those and ingest...

Hyperthyroid cat - kidney question by
[email protected]
Hi there,
I have a 12 year old hyperthyroid semi-feral female cat. She loves me, but she's very afraid of everyone else - so I'm trying to minimize the amount of vet trips for her. She weighs 6.5 pounds which is one pound underweight for her.
Her creatinine is normal (1.2), but she's drinking &...

Cat Sitting by
Cat Protector
I was considering doing cat sitting to make some extra money this summer as
well as get even more involved in helping cats. There appears to be a big
need for it and with my love of cats I figured why not. What does everyone
else think? It seems that doing stuff like this is getting to be the...

Recommendations on cordless clippers. by
Jacques E. Bouchard
I'm looking for recommendations on a good cordless clipper to cut the
hair of a (very impatient) cat.
He has very thick fur and must be trimmed once or twice a year
(especially for the summer months), but he's fidgety and won't stand still
for two minutes without throwing a tantrum. For that...

drooling kitties by
Nadia N.
Any ideas on what can cause both of my cats to start drooling? It's not
a lot of drool, but just a single drop that's slowly dripping out of the
side of their mouths.
I noticed it first in my 9 year old, Kotyo, yesterday afternoon. About 2
hours after he ate, I went to pet him and his lower jaw...

Millie Update (was Post-spay not eating) by
Darkchild
Hi all -
Thanks for 'being' with me during the trials of Millie's illness.
On the weekend things were great - her appetite returned and she was
chowing down on food and apparently her personality was coming back. The
vet mentioned that there were some more sores appearing on her back that
he was...
