Kitty Farmcat is doing well by Christina Websell
I've not updated about KFC for a while now. She's doing really well atm. She will not eat anything except "real chicken" unfortunately - I worry about feeding her exclusively on her "ultimate favourite food" as there will be nothing to tempt her if she deteriorates again, and I do wish I could...

Another BlueBird message by Yoj
I sent BlueBird many of your messages of sympathy and encouragement, as well as a couple I received by e-mail. This was her response. Joy Will tears be a good enough answer? You take care of that end. OK? I just can't think of anything but spending time with Little Bit right now. We've been...

OT Migraine Purrs by Karen Chuplis
I'm absolutely desparate. I am going on day 10 of a sinus/migraine/which led to tension and back to migraine cycle. I am taking what seems like four billion drugs that don't seem to be helping. I just took one I used to take a long time ago and while you are supposed to take it at the onset of...

Cats and Air Conditioning by dgk
Mine don't like it. I leave it on the the bedroom when it's over 90 but they're never in it when I get home. Mostly they just plop on the floor somewhere. I'm just wasting money so I think I'll just leave the fan going when it gets hot. Does anyone have cats that do appreciate a/c?

It was a good idea at the time! by HRFLTiger
How is it, that cats can make you feel about 2 inches tall? His Royal Feline Lordship Tiger is exceptionally good at it! I was given a new cat book last week (to add to my collection of over 200...) about "clicker training" a cat. Presumably, this is how all the animal trainers do it, I...

PING: Pat by Sherry
Dear Pat: Aunt Sherry says we need to show you more pictures of us so your kitten fever doesn't wane. We are healthy, and growing, but still very much babies. We have perfect (well, almost perfect) housecat manners, and we are not plant-diggers nor are we trash-diggers. Our litterbox habits are...

** SMUDGE IS HOME!!! ** by [email protected]
I found her today!!! She was trapped in a neighbor's garage. I can't tell whether she was there the whole week or not. I was about to get in my car a few hours ago, when I heard a cat yowling. It didn't actually sound like her, but I went to check anyway, of course, and it was coming from a...

Koala by Joy
As you may remember, Waffles went to the Bridge several weeks ago. Since then Pickles has been demanding a lot of attention, and occasionally crying. I decided she should have a companion. The consensus was that a young male would be best. Our local animal shelter is having a special - on...

The Terrible Tail by Marina
"O J" wrote I had just gotten up to get DH some breakfast when the "Terrible Tail" struck again. Crash, clatter, clatter! The terrible tail is the one attached to my boy Sumo. He was walking through the work area of my desk to get to the window...

Purr request by Yowie
A netfriend and denizen of another NG has just written to say that he's been left with a great gaping and unfillable hole in his heart. I'm not going to pry into exactly what that means, but he is in obvious need of comfort. So if there are any spare purrs down the back of the lounge or in...

Purrs for everyone getting bad weather by Daniel Mahoney
Central Iowa has had some cold weather and wind storms, but nothing like the folks in nearby states have been getting. IL, IN, and MO have been having awful winds, ND, SD, NE, and WI have getting bitter cold - all of you in those areas, just dig in and hang on. We're sending our purrs...

Speaking of rubber bands.... by jmcquown
I ordered some shoes and when they arrived there were big rubber bands wrapped around the shoe-boxes, crosswise and lengthwise, to keep the lids on in transit. I checked to make sure the shoes fit, then put them back in the boxes and put the rubber bands around them again. Stacked the boxes in...

Is this cruel or what? by jmcquown
Okay, I understand parents love their children. I really do. This person posted on another ng about the family cat getting into his/her grandchild's crib when the baby was not in it. So to correct this problem they set mouse traps in the crib. Albeit, upside down, but we're talking mouse traps....

Little Gray Cat by CatNipped
This is the little gray cat that hangs out in our back yard about 2 or 3 days out of the week (naturally we feed her). When we first moved in our house, in November of 2003, we thought she might be pregnant and started making plans for TNR. She kept getting bigger and bigger, but she...

Persia has an appointment by jmcquown
Tomorrow at 11:00 AM for a post-op check up. Poor girl will probably be thinking "Oh crap, she's going away again. Last time she went away they put me under anethesia and shaved my belly and did who knows what to me!" Naw, not this time ;) I have to say, this vet is *wonderful*. I had to make...

Misc purrs requested by Dan and Nancy Mahoney
We've got a couple of issues that could use purrs and meatloafs this time. First, my mom goes into the hospital tomorrow. She's been diagnosed with breast cancer, and is going in for a lumpectomy. The doctor is very confident that the lump is well-defined and contained, but it's...

Purrs for a loyal D*G friend on his trip to the bridge, please by Tanada
We don't have d*gs for nine obvious and several not so obvious reasons. However, Amanda's boyfriend's family has a mixed german shepherd, miniature doberman ? d*g, named Charlie. Charlie is 14 yrs old now, has severe arthritis, poor back leg function, and other medical problems too numerous to...
