Strange behavior by Tom H
Hello, I adopted my cat Diddy about 2 years ago and have been lurking here since. I'm finally posting because she's been exhibiting some very strange behavior that I don't know how to deal with. At the end of May I moved into a new apartment with her. She hid under the bed for a couple days,...

CRF cat and vacation... by [email protected]
So Fatass is doing well, stable and eating, now on 200mg/day of lactated ringers. We have another vet appt in a few weeks with full blood work to be done again - but I am concerned about a 1 week vacation I have coming up over labor day week. We have friends that stop by every other day to check...

Sneezing, need quick response please by animzmirot
Ringo started sneezing non-stop about an hour ago. Nothing coming out, eyes aren't runny, no discharge anywhere, but he's just sneezing and sneezing. The ONLY thing that has been different about him is that today he went into the kitchen garbage and pulled out the plastic top to a cottage...

Nipsy is driving me nuts by dgk
I always seem to have one happy cat (that would be the position currently held by Espy - DSH) and one unhappy cat (the role filled by Nipsy). Espy is always smiling and inquisitive and talking, but Nipsy (16 lb long hair, possibly part Maine Coon) always seems unhappy and scared of everything....

Adding new cat by Jacqueline
Hello, We currently have a 1.5 - 2 year old female that we adopted 6 months or so ago. She is a fabulous cat. She is especially attached to me, it seems. We have decided to do a trial adoption of another 8 month old female. I think our current cat will enjoy having a playmate as a neighborhood cat...

thanks for the advice! by Glitter Ninja
My cats have been a handful lately. Some may remember Reggie's eye problem -- it went away for a while but is back, thankfully we have an opthamologist in town and when they come back from vacation next week he'll see Reggie. So I'm optimistic about that. The other big problem was Simon. He...

Tweaker is the snuggliest by Charlie Wilkes
He jumps in my lap and puts his paws around my neck and rubs his face against my cheek. He smells wonderful. He has good manners in the house and never pees or craps except in his box. He loves my dog and he is comfortable with travel, visitors, you name it. He is talkative, deeply interested...

Damaged third eyelid by Mike S.
My cat has a tiny piece of his third eyelid missing as if it was torn out. The vet is aware of this as she's the one who first told me about it. But what I failed to ask is if his leaky eye is because of his third eyelid. He does have herpes but his eye doesn't water like his sister's. His sister...

Cat Puffing up for any real reason? by [email protected]
My roommate has recently been experiencing behavior with his cat where she will puff up in front of him. She didn't seem like she was aggressive or too unhappy, and he is able to pet her. Any ideas why this could be? She lives in a household with another cat and dog - could this be her way of...

"Dan M" wrote in message ... How interesting. It appears, by your next statement, that you have no interest in it. Could there possibly, conceivably, be any potential that your words are having an equally null effect on Dan? My...

New here, seeking info on integrating new cat by D_Lilly
Hello all! I just joined this site, and it looks like your membership is helpful when advice is needed. I have two dogs, Chichi, a Chihuahua mix, about 9 years old, and Rocco, a pom/collie mix (? still not sure on that one, but he's on the small side), about 2 years old. I also have two cats, who...

Squirrel's story (he won't stop giving me the hairy eyeball til I tell it) by Trish
There was an old lady who lived in a shoe.. no no no a house and she had so many cats she didn't know what to do. Well she let the cats roam and this house is about 2 mins away from my apartment. Sadly, the females are not spayed so the collection kept growing. (Note: The cats have since been...

Can a pregnant cat be in heat? by Amy V via CatKB.com
Thanks again for all your help. I posted a question about a rescued mother cat last week and the feedback was wonderful! This cat is obviously in heat. Can she also be pregnant, or does a heat cycle stop once she has conceived? She weighs 5lbs, we weigh her every 2 days, and she hasn't made any...

reintroducing the cats (to each other) by Justin L
Hi group, Well, Jake is still beating up, and terrorizing poor Elwood once in awhile, so I have decided to try reintroducing them again. I went out and bought 2 better gates than I had in the previous introductions, so that hopefully will help. A few questions: *Is there anything that should be...

traveling success by Rona Y
I'm home for the summer, and spending quality time for my cat. My mother saved Kitty's yearly check-up until I could take her myself. Kitty has a very difficult time traveling. She meows incessantly (and she pretty much never meows in daily life), she throws up in her carrier...she just hates...

PsychoSukey by Rebecca Root
Earlier this summer, I had a problem of misplaced aggression with my 2 cats, Sukey and Riley. I posted here about it, got good advice for reintroducing, and seemed to have solved the problem. After reintroduction, we had a month of normal, peaceful life. Almost 3 weeks ago, it reoccured. Sukey saw...
