Please welcome Nikki to our group by
MaryL[_2_]
I have adopted another kitty. This makes three, and will be my maximum.
Her name is Nikki--suggested by my sister for the Christmas season (St.
Nicholas). The president of our local Alley Cats Allies called me and asked
me to consider adopting her, and it just seemed "right." She was rescued...

Cat TV for Persia by
jmcquown[_2_]
For a short while, cat TV (the windows onto the patio) was very active
today. Must be due to the drop in temperature. I scattered some seed
and refilled the bird bath yesterday.
A while ago, Persia alerted me. She started making those chattery
noises. :) So I turned to look. There were...

the nurse with an iron paw by
Jack Campin
I spent yesterday in bed with labyrinthitis - which means you can't
move your head at all or everything spins round for a minute. Chloe
decided to help by planting herself full length on my chest and
purring point-blank into my face. With occasional visits from Ollie
and Marblecake pinioning one...

Babysitting for Serene's babies by
dgk
My neighbor is off on vacation for 10 days and I'm over at their house
before leaving for work and after coming home, to feed, entertain, and
clean the litterboxes. Six cats. Gizmo is the troublemaker; he's sort
of tan and grey, always knocking things over. Bluebell is a boy with
very long white...

Emma - Serious Problems by
Art Shapiro[_2_]
Emma is my orange tabby whom I acquired in December, 2010 at 11 years of age.
The family that owned her couldn't give her as much time as she deserved, so
they unloaded her on CraigsList. (That's pretty rotten, but she ended up in a
good home!)
She was in for dental work a couple weeks ago -...

Demand purrs by
Takayuki
Right now, Spicey is at my feet, under my desk, purring and staring at me
with those incredibly large eyes, glowing from the shadows.
I always used to think that purring was a sign of contentment. But with
Spicey, it's practically the opposite - it's malcontent with the state of
the food dishes....

Thank goodness for my cats by
Mark Edwards
There are a lot of ways my life would have been considerably more
difficult, without my cats to help me through them.
Hugs and Purrs,

Still too cold for Miss Emily by
Mark Edwards
After spending all day indoors, Miss Emily wanted back out again
tonight, so I opened the door and let her out, with promises to check on
her later. With temps getting into the mid teens, I worry about her.
So a little later, I open the door to check on her. She is lying down in
front of the...

Miss Emily want out on a frigid day by
Mark Edwards
Miss Emily wanted out this morning, I'm assuming to do her business in
the bushes.
She went to the front door, found the weather not to her liking, went to
the back door, found the weather not to her liking, then went to the
closed laundry room door. I showed her what was behind that door, so...

Another in the Shamrock's head collection by
Cheryl[_3_]
Just for you, Joyce. My boys, all stoned. It didn't take long for
Shamrock to chase Sammy off of the catnip sprinkled on the scratching
toy, but Sammy holds his own with these boys. He's been giving Rhett a
run lately. LOL

Sammy bath by
Cheryl[_3_]
I don't like to give cats baths because they do a good job of it
themselves. But Sammy got some diarrhea from something, probably more
changing food even though I try to do it slowly. He used to only eat
dry Purina cat chow. He did well on it so I was slow to want to switch.
He was also an...

I had the best birthday today by
Christina Websell
Ever. Am still full of beef and pork, had a good three mile walk to walk it
off and Pauline curled my hair. Literally with some heated things when we
got home.
She drove fast but as she said "you won't notice" True.
Love her.
But there is still that secret. It does matter, but I'm not doing...

Yucky boycat fudz by
Mark Edwards
Little Feet and Little Boy both go crazy for turkey and ham, and it's
all I can do to keep from getting tripped up in the kitchen. But Apache
takes one sniff and turns up her nose at "boycat fudz".
I haven't found anything that Apache really goes nuts for. Not even
Fancy Feast. Maybe she's just...

Making amends by
Christina Websell
Boyfie went out this morning and came back with a collared dove which he
left on the doormat for my dinner, since he'd ruined mine on Tuesday.
It's a long time since he caught one, he used to bring them for KFC.
He couldn't resist just eating the head (sorry, a bit gross) but the rest
was mine...

Miss Emily's day by
Mark Edwards
So, when I got up (literally at the crack of noon), Miss Emily wanted to
go out.
I stood in the door while she decided whether she wanted out in the
decidedly un-Texas-like weather. Finally, she went out, then looked back
at me as if asking, "If I don't like it, can I come back in?" Of course,...

*Someone* by

Got up on my stove, knocked the cover off my pork with mushrooms and
courgettes and licked most of the gravy off it while I was out playing
Scrabble this afternoon.
Any idea who that could have been?

Half & Half or I like it chilly by
jmcquown[_2_]
I can't help it, when I go to bed I like the bedroom to be nice and
cool. I also run a fan so there is air circulating. I have nice sheets
and a woven cotton blanket, perfect for this South Carolina climate. If
I get cold, I can always pull up the bedspread. I want the room cool.

Sunbeam trumps all by
Mark Edwards
After another frigid night where Miss Emily shared my pillow, she
decided to try her luck with the Out. No rain, no sleet, but still cold,
she stepped outside, looked back at me over her shoulder for a moment,
then wandered off. Miss Emily has been spotted a couple of time, since
then, lying...
