Black cats by
Christina Websell[_2_]
They are considered very lucky here but in USA the reverse.
Why do you think that is?

Freezing instinct by
Takayuki
I've never seen my own cats do this, but I think it's really neat how
in these videos, cats seem to instinctively know how to freeze when
they think they may be seen.

Do those mats for catboxes work? by
Phoenix[_2_]
Has anyone used those mats mats that are supposed to clean the
cat litter off kitty paws and keep it from being tracked around
the house? Do they do any good? Is there one style or brand that
is better than the others?
We have two elderly cats (Smokey, 16 and Fearless, 18) in the
"Kitty...

Dot's not old, is she? by
Takayuki
According to her vet papers, Dot was born in September 1999.
Betty, who was adopted in May 2003 at the listed age of 3.5, so I
guessed that she was born around November 1999. That would make Dot
the senior cat of the two!
But Dot and Betty are similar enough, and came from the same shelter,
so I...

Miranda's follow-up by
Marina
I'm taking Miranda in for her follow-up tomorrow. She seems absolutely
fine, so I'm hoping the x-ray will show that the crystals are all gone.
She ate her final antibiotic pill like a good girl this evening. She's
been off the pain meds since Monday.
If there are still crystals there, the vet...

Kenmore subway cat by
Takayuki
In a story reminiscent of Stinky, there was a stray cat that had
become a minor celebrity in mid-town Boston by deciding to make his
home at subway stop for several months. He was a bit skittish, but
become friendlier and friendlier as time went...

Name That Sport by

Perhaps it's the heart murmur pill we've been giving China-Doll, I
don't know. She was always a squirmy, wiggly Little White Thing, and
she's only gotten busier since the pill.
We never thought she'd get into a habit of independent play, as China
had been a companion to a dear friend who was in...

Battle for the Pillow by
Mischief[_2_]
The BF has been gone for the last month....long story as to why, but
the cats have all wondered where he has gone.
In the corner by his side of the bed, i've placed one of his big
pillows on top of it.
All three cats have been fighting for that prime spot ever since.
Mostly Mayhem has been...

Sad anniversary by
Lisa Katt[_2_]
Today it is four years since I had to let my beloved Hugo Katt (the black
church yard cat) leave for the Rainbow Bridge.
It was a very bad experience so I will say no more about it.
I miss you Hugo Katt.

Persia's Going to the Vet by
jmcquown[_2_]
Just a routine check-up but she hasn't been to TED for a couple of years. I
got all wrapped up with taking care of my mother, then dealing with things
that had to do with settling her estate and dealing with taxes. I just
never got around to taking her for a check-up.
She doesn't appear to be...

Farewell to a beloved feral by
Bobcat[_2_]
Having cared for Mooch, our resident stray feral cat for over four
years, I know how attached one can become to them. A wonderful man
here in Scarborough just outside of Toronto cares for dozens of them.
He's Robert Brydges, who has been tending to a colony of feral cats
for over ten years. He's...

Sad Day in Wash State today :( by
Kyla `=^..^=`
Hi
I guess you've seen the news about 4 cops getting gunned down in Wash State
recently, in a local coffee shop. Coffee is a food group here.
Over 20,000 people in uniform, from all over the World, are gathering in the
Tacoma Doma for their services, and no, I can't watch it, because it's too...

[OT] That way lies madness.... by

Our interest rates are going up, so we're in the process of re-shuffling
our finances so our credit cards won't kill us.
We've also factored in some omney so we can finally finish the home
renovations we started last year and were planning to finish earlier this
year when my anual bonus came...

Niece's pics from the island by

My niece has finally posted a few of her photos from last summer on the
island. There are a couple of hilarious pics of Caliban, and one
hilarious pic of Miranda, where she is obviously glaring at one of the
'big boys' that she hates. The other cats are Mir's brother Emil (big,
kind-looking...

Miranda is much better by
Marina
Thank you all for your purrs. Miranda seems to have gotten rid of her
crystals, at least she has had no problems in the litterbox since
Monday. She is still on antibiotics and gets a dose of painkiller every
morning, but I removed the patch yesterday. This meant I could also
remove the...
