OT - Balloon Releases and Such by
Joani H
Always in search of ways to celebrate, honor or whatever over the
years I've run up against the things that we can no longer do, or
shouldn't do and the like. Around here throwing rice after a wedding
is verboten because the rice can cause a serious eye injury, can cause
harm to some of the...

My own personal grooming critic by
Dan & Nancy Mahoney
Most weekends I don't bother to shave, since I don't usually go much of
any place where I have to deal with people. Samuel R kitten doesn't seem
to think much of that habit, though.
I like to lie in bed and watch TV some evenings, and Samuel often joins
me. He will frequently lie down on my chest...

Planted a Kitty Garden by
jmcquown[_2_]
Who says cats don't eat greens?
I bought one of these for Persia years ago:
http://www.chewy.com/cat/smartcat-kittys-garden/dp/49067
Persia loved munching on the fresh grass. She preferred the barley
grass but also liked the wheat and oat grass. Rye came in fourth.
I still had a refill kit...

it's ridiculously hot. by
Christina Websell
It was 30C today, I stayed in until I had to water the veggie plot at 8 pm
and although Boyfie likes the heat he decided to stay in too, and he's just
gone up to his bedroom deciding even going out during the night is far too
hot for comfort.
I have a Galileo thermometer and for the first time I...

They came round with a solution.
"We've decided that we will let you get your car out if you will agree to

gave me something to sign.
I was quite kind and took their letter and said I might have have to let a

She's gone - RIP Cleo by
Lois
Cleo went into a coma last night, we made her comfortable, gave her
cuddles, talked to her telling her it was OK to go.
Been a very emotional time, she has been my DH constant companion for
15 of her 17 years, she came into my nearly 5 years ago.
She slipped away a few minutes ago.
Sorry got to...

Bast / Bastet Statuette? by
CatNipped
Hey guys, do any of you know where I might find a minature (6" - 12")
statuette of the goddess Bast / Bastet? I saw one in a catalogue for
$60.00 but didn't want to pay that much.
Hugs,

A Tisket, A Tasket.... by
Sherry
In my neverending mostly unsuccessful attempts to get organized and get a
handle on clutter (which I hate)..
Hobby Lobby had all wicker baskets 1/2 off, so I bought 3. One large one for a
clothes hamper, one medium one to put beside DH's recliner for his
"stuff"...remote, TV guide, books,...

Fostering is *SO* worthwhile. :o) by
Helen Miles
I had a lovely suprise saturday. The adoptive mom and dad of 2 very
sick, very feral, very timid and terrified kittens that I fostered in
September '04 stopped by out of the blue and knocked on my door. When I
got the kittens, they were infested with roundworm to the point they
were puking them up,...

We have fleas by
dgk
Well, someone apparently has fleas, and I guess that means we all do.
I don't see any, but a follow up to Nipsy's ear surgery shows that he
still has some issues, and the doc thinks it's probably fleas. Great.
It's my fault. I did give them Frontline before letting the start to
go outside, but...

Netiquette - a rational view by

Let's start out by saying that we are very open here, and not
(normally) pushy about what is basically just a convention.
However, since most text-based media simulate conversation, it has
been the practice on Usenet, to post beneath the original text, so
that people reading the followup will...

What a Wonderful Day!!! by

This is just wonderful!! Seriously!! They had been predicting for a
day or two some winter weather so I told the kitties yesterday to purr
for bad weather so Meowmie and Daddy could stay home with them and
build a big fire in the fireplace. It worked!!
When we went to bed last night, the...

Us Brits are expecting a hurricane by

Similar to the 1987 one, overnight. Boyfie and myself are tucked up safely
in the house, so no need to worry about us.
Whether it will happen, I don't know. It might do, our weather forecasters
are quite good.
I'll tell you tomorrow. If I have power..

Do your cats perform bathroom escort duties too? by
Karen AKA KajiKit
Scout and Silver take it in turns to escort us to the bathroom. If you
close the door to keep them out they lie on the other side and poke
their paws through underneath... they REALLY want to be in there, so
they can walk in circles around you, rub against your legs, demand
pets, and in Silver's...

Reunited with feline family (at LAST!) by
EvelynVogtGamble(Divamanque)
My babies are busily exploring their new home, and we are a
family again! I moved to Arizona on October 30th, having
boarded the cats for the previous three days to spare them
the chaos of the move. We then drove from California to
Fountain Hills, spending one night in a motel. The cats were...
