My cat keeps licking plastic bags! by
DAdriano
Anyone have any thoughts about my female cat doing this? She doesn't try to
eat it, but she loves to lick any sort of plastic bag (like grocery bags or
garbage bags). Is she lacking in some supplement that makes her want to do
this?

Cat pooping outside litterbox by
yogibug via CatKB.com
My boyfriend's cat has started to poop outside its litterbox. The cat is
male, three almost four years old, and is neutered. It was just at the vet
about two weeks ago and he's healthy, so that isn't an issue. But his
roommate brought over a dog this weekend, which caused the cat to pretty...

Any winter adjustment in the diet? by
Ajanta
I am feeding two adult strays, one regularly. Do they need more
nourishent in the winter months? If so, would it be better to increase
their regular food or to switch to kitten formula, partially or
completely? Thanks.

berievement by
lulu
Until three weeks ago we had two cats one was 13yrs old and the other is 15yrs old, both females, both persians. Sadly we had to have the 13yr old put to sleep (due to a serious illness) and since then our remaining cats behaviour has changed. She is a very loving cat and used to love to show...

Cloudy Eye in one eyed Cat by
[email protected]
I have no responsiblity to this cat who
was a stray.
The minute you take the cat in you absolutely do have a responsibility
for him.
It would have been dead a long time ago
if not for me.
That doesn't justify your current cruel treatment and neglect of this

Bought Nature's Variety Canned (95% meat) and they dont like it! by
223rem
I bought them the duck, lamb and venison varieties.
Very expensive, very good stuff, the idiot cats still prefer
the dry food.
What the ****?!

I guess I've been adopted (ie front porch "gifts") by
Brian Link
There are a few wandering cats in our neighborhood.. hard to tell
who's a stray and who's a poor schmuck whose owner lets them roam.
One guy, a ring-tailed tabby, seems to have a particular fondness for
us. He's most often seen.
Yesterday my wife found a headless baby possum corpse on our...

VENT!!! by
Snittens
I subscribe to the local Freecycle list, and I saw a post today that ****ed
me off!
The gist of it is that the woman's 9 yr old boy's cat was killed by a car
and he will be heartbroken. So, she wants to surprise him with a bunny for
his birthday next week. She is looking for an outdoor rabbit...

Phil P - what you recommend from Purina by
[email protected]
Phil P, what do you recommend for a dry food from Purina?
I got a free coupon after I pointed out the mistakes in what
info they were giving out over the phone. I think they give
free coupons often.
In any case, the cat is female, 6, no known problems except
meowing near the 'frig.
She weighs a...

cat wants company while eating by
Elizabeth Blake
Stinky, one of my cats at work, is starting up with a behavior she has
shown on & off over the last few years. She likes to eat in her own
little "safe zone" at the back of the basement, where her bed & cat
furniture is.
I'll bring her food back there and she starts eating. I return to...

Abernathy (orange guy) update, and question UTI by
Rhonda
Abernathy is becoming just a regular cat in the household. A week ago,
he even crawled into my lap for a snuggle, and purred like a truck! He
spent time laying between me and the arm of the chair, and he was
completely upside down. He was 4 paws to the wind.
He still skitters away if we walk...

Peroxide and Cats? by
[email protected]
I've read in a text for nurses not to use
peroxide as a disinfectant (on humans).
It's ineffective, and there's potential for it
to get into the bloodstream. I would use
something else.
I prefer a 50/50 solution of Betadine and water, either as a soak or
topically. A few times in the past...

Abbey purred! by
Candace
She hadn't purred for almost 6 months. She was diagnosed with
chylothorax and fibrosing pleuritis (scarring of her lungs from the
chyle sitting in her chest cavity) in May. She had a *very* grave
prognosis, had her chest drained twice, was supposed to die. The 2
vets kept preparing me for that,...

scooting by

Kitty, my 15 pound young male cat was in the litter box as usual.
This time, as he exited the closet where the litter box is kept, he
scooted his butt on the floor for about 2 feet, leaving a skidmark.
He scurried across the floor and did the same thing again. I was a

older cat with possible arthritis by

I swear, when it rains it pours... just as we might be getting one
cat's conjunctivitis under control, another cat gets happy time with the
vet ;)
My cat Spam is about 13 years old. When he was a kitten, he had
apparently been left outside in the cold and it caused some damage in
his hind legs. ...
