Purrs for BIL by
Marina
Could I please ask for some purrs for my BIL? Some of you may remember I
asked once before, when he was struck down by some mysterious ailment.
Well, we do know more now, but I don't want to go into too much detail
on someone else's illness. It's serious but not life-threatening and
surgery...

The yummie-treat-ceremony by
Inge Grotjahn
Hi all:-)
as you know, we are owned by 11 cats, which we love dearly. And
because of that, I installed a daily ceremony, which I want to let you
know about:-) But first I have to tell you, that our cats prefer
kibble instead of canned food.
Every night, when I go to bed and placed myself in the...

Pam Shirk Update 10:30 GMT Fri 11th May by
HRFLTiger
Hi guys,
I've just spoken to Pam Shirk as of 22:30 GMT, and she seems in good
spirits. She has been downgraded into the Stepdown unit (whatever that
is) which suggests that they are getting things under control. She's
got no idea how long it will take to get her better.
She's asked me to pass on...

Freddy has joined my household and is getting along just famously with Mongo
(the loudmouthed lovable siamese *******), Luna (a persian puffball), and
Bob (a chuhuahua/peckonese/jack russel terrior rat-dog).
Freddy is without tail; He was picked up from the animal shelter by "halo"
and on display...

Purrs for two itty-bitties by
Cantate
Well, this morning when I walked out the door I heard Jona talking to
somebody. It wasn't the usual male throaty call from the Somebody; it
was high-pitched squeaks! Jona was looking under our neighbor's car
and seriously talking. It looked like she was trying to convince
Somebody to come out. ...

Job? Yeah, Right! (OT) by
jmcquown
Got an email from my errant nephew, Alex. He's got to be, what, 25 by now?
Last time I heard from him he'd decided he must be gay. Now he's decided
he's not. (sigh) And he's planning to get married but I have no idea to
whom.
He claims he started a new job and he told the managers during the...

Reinsituted gmail block by
jmcquown
Sorry, but school is definitely OUT and maybe some of you folks who use
gmail could switch to something else! I just can't deal with the crap right
now.
Persia slept cuddled up to me last night. And I applied for a job as a
receptionist at her vets' office.

Software that prevents cats from emailing by
Gabey8[_2_]

My first thought, upon seeing the topic line, was "Horrors!" Then I
realized that it was only intended for cats that weren't internet-
savvy, like the ones that post here. :o)
Seems that someone says they've written a program to detect...

Webby Award for CuteOverload! by
Kreisleriana
W00t! My favorite blog won a Webby award!
http://www.webbyawards.com/webbys/current.php#webby_entry_weird
Of course it's in the "Weird" category, but if a daily diet of
cuteness is weird, I don't want to be-- not weird. :P
I consider CO in the same essential, sanity-saving category as RPCA.
I...

Last night, there were several heavy thunderstorms, and heavy (much needed
rain). It hasn't broken the horrid humidity yet, but at least the
temperature to go with the horrible humidity has lessened. It has made
getting a good night's sleep difficult what withthe thunder and Fluffy
barking her damn...

Did I mention the latest "tap tap" techniques? by
jmcquown
I have a king-size bed. So I have 4 pillows on the bed. Two are just sort
of backdrop, if you will, as they match the bedspread. But the other two
pillows I use (well, mostly the one on the left side). Persia, the intrepid
tapping cat (nose, cheek and shoulder) has taken to crawling up on the...

Update: Casper by
Lucy's Mom
Just a short note....Eric and I are pretty well exhausted...
We went for a visit today at lunch and got an update from Dr. J.
She's tolerating the tube feedings quite well, as long as they don't
overdo it. One of the other vets in the practice told Dr. J today at
the Monday am breakfast meeting...

Some purrs for Tessa appreciated by
Lesley via CatKB.com
Hi
Some of you may remember that apart from this group one of the people who
kept me sane while Dave was in hospital was a very old friend called Tessa,
who had her dad in hospital at the same time?.
I just emailed her to check if our usual lunch date was on and she just told
me her dad passed...

Another Hoolikittie '05 birthday by

Tomorrow, April 21, my sweet Lily was born
somewhere in the streets of Montgomery County, MD.
She was taken to the Last Chance Adoption Center who
then turned her over to our local PetSmart store for
adoption. My daughter took me there the day after my
Jazz left for the RB because she said I...

As fate would have it by

Carrie works as a groomer in one of the local PetSmarts we patronize.
She lost her 10-year-old cat, Rosie, when she moved to a new house
last fall. Despite ads, flyers, searches of old and new
neighborhoods, Rosie was never found. Last week, our PetSmart hosted
an adoption day for one of the...

Some incredibly good luck by
Pat
The cats have been patiently waiting for the last 14 months to run around
outside, and it's made me very sad as well as costing a lot of money for cat
litter, but today I got *very* lucky in that a neighbor decided to replace
his welded wire fence with chain link, and gave me a mess of t-posts...

Adventures in the Cat Food Isle by
Ginger-lyn
I'm sure we've all had some interesting conversations in the cat food
isle. Cat people usually do.
However, it's rare for a dog person to be there.
So I'm in the aisle, picking up a few cans of cat food to bolster what I
have at home. And this kinda creepy-seeming guy comes over, puts a big...
