Can you train a cat where to go outside? by
[email protected]
We are new to cats, having taken in a stray about amonth ago.
She is an outdoor cat with a small house on the deck.
We have never seen her venture out...she seems to always come jumping
up from underneath the deck when we call her.
There is gravel underneath the deck, and we are worried that she...

Cats and hot weather by

Do cats feel the heat during the summer hot weather? If they do, is there
anything we need to do to cool them off?

litter training kittens with mama by
Laura Burchard
I'm fostering a mother cat with two kittens, about six weeks old now. In
most respects everything is going well, the kittens seem to be socializing
well and are very healthy. But I'm a little concerned about litter training.
I didn't expect it to be a problem, the mother is litter trained and...

taking a cat in by
Cathy Friedmann
Check the shelters - as you mentioned, the local vets', & check for "Lost"
notices in the paper (which is how my neighbor found her kitten who'd
wandered off) for the next couple of weeks. Post notices around w/in
reasonable wandering distance, too - also as you mentioned. You could also
take her...

Cats can prevent heart attacks by
[email protected]
I've been developing a theory that, so far, has worked for me. The
process works like this:
1. Lie down in your recliner.
2. Call your cat and have it jump up on you
3. Get the cat purring
4. Hold the purring cat close to your chest.
The theory is that a cat's purring is at a frequency at...

CRF - Speed of deterioration by
Toni from T.O.
Hi again!
I posted earlier about my cat's extreme lethargy. My vet has ruled out
hemobartonella as a cause of Timothy's decline, and is now thinking that it
is probably kidney related. My question is, would it be unusual to see a
cat go from perky/chasing birds to practically immobile within...

Clawing Ritual question & update by
Angela
Some of you might remember my semi feral kittens Dobby (formerly Shirkan) and
Cajun. In any event, I have noted a strange ritual. Every am, when I get up,
the very first thing that Dobster does is run straight to the scratching post
and claw it. He does it every day. We did not train them to use...

Update was taking a cat in by
Sharon
So, I took Stranger Cat to the vet after work today to check for a

suggested it. Can you believe that she didn't have one?
Unfortunately yes. Most pets chipped at our practice are dogs.
If the HS doesn't...
