Special treats for all tonight by
Pat[_3_]
Thursday is "Senior's Day" at our local Chinese/Korean buffet
restaurant. Dave and I eat there once or twice a month. No MSG is
used.... Sometimes we go on Fridays for the AYCE crab legs @ $7.95, or
Saturdays for the AYCE butterfly shrimp and fish tempura @ $7.95.
But on Thursdays we pay $5.95 for...

The Other Shoe Has Dropped by
Ginger-lyn
Some of y'all may recall that among my myriads of difficulty was that
the landlord was selling the apartment building. He did, and after a
couple of months with nothing from the new landlord (not even an
introductory note), today in the mail I got a lease.
Now, I have been on month-to-month...

OT do any of you have sleep apnea by
Matthew[_3_]
I just got diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea just wondering if any of
you suffer from anything like this?
I got to go in and see what can be done. It can be surgery or the mask
maybe medication.
Just wondering anyone else experiences

A year ago by
Yowie
A year ago (on the 11th, but I haven't been able to really post until now),
Shmogg went to Rainbow Bridge.
I now have three white cats, all of which hold a small part of Shmogg's
personality (highly strung, lovebug, smartarse). I've got an earring in my
ear (which *still* hasn't healed,...

My Mother Died by
jmcquown[_2_]
At 10:30 AM this morning my mother took her final breath. The hospice nurse
is here and Shay the caregiver is still here. They're waiting for the
doctor to come and officially pronounce her. But my mother died at 10:30AM
this morning. In her own comfortable bed, at home. Wearing a pretty...

OT. What does car insurance cost in the US? by
Christina Websell[_2_]
Not for a teenager rushing around a high-powered car but for the average
sensible adult like we all are on here with a car that meets our needs.
Would you all mind telling me what you pay? I just want to compare it with
what I just paid for my renewal.
Thinking about it further, I'd like to...

D*g Question by
CatNipped[_3_]
This might be controversial, but I trust this group to not start a flame war
over it. This is a legitimate question, not fodder to start a fight. For
those who want/have d*gs as well as cats...
Would you adopt a pitbull puppy to live with your cats? I won't even ask
about an adult d*g. But...

Purrs needed (OT) by
Lesley
Some of you may recall I was having serious troubles with a certain
boss over an allegation that could have led to disciplinary action
back in December/January. Nothing more has been said on the matter
until today when I am handed a letter telling me the hearing will go
ahead on the 29th of March....

Shop Pets by
jmcquown
Went to the store last night and there was Maxine, the shop dog. She's not
always there but she was there last night.
She's such a sweet mutt. No particular breed that I can ascertain but she's
got brown and black rather longish fur (now going grey around her muzzle).
She's probably about 40,...

Purrs for kilikini by
jmcquown
Today is the day Christy (kilikini) she gets all her pre-op tests and
tomorrow she's scheduled for surgery. She called the other day and she's
scared spitless. (Who wouldn't be?)
She's going to be in for a long haul recovering from this massive surgery.
Along with the tumor they are going to...

OT question: avoiding shortening for cornbread? by
Monique Y. Mudama
I've noticed the more authentic (ie, not in a "cooking healthy/ light/
lowfat/ etc" book) cornbread recipes always call for shortening to
coat the pan.
Would it be a disaster to use spray Pam or something instead?
I just don't have much use for shortening, so I don't see the point of
buying any...

"Get your butt home NOW" purrs needed!! by
[email protected]
Smudge didn't come home last night! She has never done that before.
Usually she comes running up to me when she sees my car pull up to
the sidewalk in front of my building. Sometimes she's not around at
that moment, but has always shown up within a half hour or 45 minutes
of my arrival home. Last...

Poppet is home! by
Clangnuts
Poppet has been missing since Febuary - we had a phone call last Friday to
say she was at the Golf Club 1/4 mile away. Apparently she's been there for
some months, but no one could get near enough to read her tag.
On friday she calmly strolled into the members bar, and jumped up on the
table!
We...

The Poxy pox by
Exocat
Would you believe it, 50 years late, I've got Chicken Pox!
Just a bit off-colour for a week, then on Monday the first spots
erupted.
Saw the Doc Tuesday morning and he was most excited: first case of adult
pox (rather than Shingles) he's seen in 10 years. He had to share it
with 3 junior...

Happy birthday, Holly (9 years old - with photos) by
MaryL
Holly will be 9 years old on June 1. Actually, that's her "official"
birthday. I was told when I adopted her (Nov. 25, 1995) that she was born in
"early June," and June 1 seems as "early" as possible. She had previously
been named Jinx because she was seen as a "bad luck cat" (which enrages me
to...

Barn kittens update 3 by
Annie Wxill
This morning Christine took some food to the barn for the mother cat. She
saw the cat exit the barn as she entered.
Then she heard a little hiss and looked in the dark place between a couple
of bales of hay.
Sure enough, she saw a pair of tiny glowing eyes. She put on her gloves and
reached in and...

Feline Specialist? (long again - sorry) by

Sunday afternoon, DH and I were to take Mike in for sub-q fluids from
the vet tech when she was there to feed the boarders; however, when we
arrived TED himself was there instead, and we were able to talk
uninterrupted for a bit while the IV bag emptied itself into Mikey. I
am not entirely sure...

let out the clutch, and drove right into the side of a Honda Accord. I
