Update on Eli by
Gary Woods
There was one query last week, which I can't find.
Eli is the 14 year old black cat who suddenly stopped eating.
Vet cleaned teeth, did all manner of blood tests and X-rays.
He's in good humor, affectionate, but just won't eat. S.O. gets him to lap
up a little Boost, and sometimes lick some beef...

For those of you who read my earlier post regarding vets and whether they
really care about the creatures they treat.Thank you all of those who
replied to my post last time...I was uplifted by your thoughts.
Yogi lost his fight against cancer yesterday.
He bore his illness with the same calm,...

Update on Clyde by
Naomi
Hi everyone, I just thought I would let everyone know who's interested
about my poorly moggy.
Thank you for your email, I don't check this account daily which is
why I've only just seen yours!
I have spoken to the vet this morning who has had Clyde on a drip all
night and anti-biotics. He has...

Update on chemo by
Betsy
Thanks to all who responded.
Secondo had her first chemo today. Her URI seems to have abated and her
incision was almost totally healed.
She seems to feel a little under the weather, but I've been given an
anti-nausea pill for her.
Hopefully, the cancer was cured by the surgery. It had not...

Update on Chase by
SongSylvan
OK, had computer issues, hopefully it's fixed--but regarding Chase and his
peeing gig--the bloodwork and urinalysis came back OK, so there's nothing
physically wrong with him. His vet asked if he's been doing it ever since, and
he hasn't. She suggested I pay a bit more attention to him, that...

Update on cat with possible cancer by
Snittens
I posted a while ago about my brother and SIL's cat with possible cancer,
they were debating doing chemo. She had also eaten recalled food. Turns
out, she has melamine poisoning! I want to give a big thank you to the
person that gave me the info on getting tested for that. There isn't a...

Update on cat pooping in house by
Deborah Trujillo
My husband told me this morning that his allergies have really been acting
up since Tumbleweed came to live with us. He didn't tell me before because I
had loved the cat so much. I've had him at the vet's since yesterday to
treat his diarrhea and find out of any physical causes of this. I bought...

Update on cat not eating by
[email protected]
All,
Thanks to all who have voiced their advice and concern. It looks like
Orion is gaining a little momentum and is starting to eat again. It
seems as if grief / stress may have been the cause of him stopping
eating. We found that if we get him to play with us a while before
eating, things go...

Update on Buddha by
Mary
My full-figured hyperthyroid tuxedo cat has been on Tapazole 10 mgs (.5
every twelve hours) for three weeks now and three days ago began showing
less interest in her food, which she formerly gobbled. This morning she had
to be dragged out from under a table to be pilled, then refused her food...

Update on Bubbas by
Karen M.
Thanks everyone for their kind words when I posted a few days ago.
Bubbas has been diagnosed with malignant histiocytosis. (A good layman's
description can be found he
http://www.xs4all.nl/~gvdt57/histiocytosis.html). Basically it's a rare
very aggressive form of cancer that is nearly always...

Update on 2 kitty's living over my fence. by
suitta
I wrote a couple of weeks ago for advice on handling a kitten and it's
mother living over my fence. Well, we invited the kitten, he's about 12 -
16 weeks old, into the house a few nights ago. I got an animal advocacy
group to donate some money toward his neuter. We took him to the vet today
and...

Update on 'Ed'...my hunter and gatherer by

Hi All,
Just wanted to thank you all again for the great suggestions regarding Ed
bringing in all kinds of dead/alive animals through the dog/cat door.
I'm still trying to find an electronic door that will fit in the brick wall
opening, but in the meantime I've got him wearing a harness and bell. ...

Update on "bald belly syndrome" by
Edna Pearl
It's been a month since I posted that my 9yo dsh Ted was diagnosed with bald
belly syndrome, which is basically feline OCD -- licking the hair off his
hind legs and belly. He was on Valium for two weeks, then had a follow-up
visit with the vet. The vet said the hair on his tummy was all the...

Update Hyperthyroidism - not by
Greta
Hi,
Thanks for all your responses. Well the vet guessed wrong. Isis had a very
malignant and aggressive cancer (the kind with tendrils) deep between her
shoulder blades. Surgery and chemo would only give a very poor prognosis so
this morning I said good-bye to my friend.

Update for older cat pooping in house by
[email protected]
Hi everyone,
Well, my mum took him to the vet this morning (I didn't explain in my
previous post, I'm at university now living away from home, so
couldn't take him - all the info about his condition was actually
relayed to me).
The vet checked his teeth, his temperature, and some other things...

Update as of 7/8/03: homeless man and kittens by
Alexandra
I think the guy is a con artist. All last week, the guy didn't have
the kittens with him at all. On Monday morning and this morning, he
had them back again. This guy is working a scam. How do you have
kittens one week, and then not another when you're homeless? You
can't *store* them anywhere!...

Update and Name Change by
CatNipped[_2_]
Good news first - he tested negative for FIV and FeLV, so he's definitely
now an indoor only pampered cat.
Second, since we're definitely going to keep him (as if that was ever in
doubt), I decided "Garvin" just wouldn't do - too undignified. So we're
going to call him "Hunter" (kinda goes...
