Mechanical dry food dispenser? by
John Doe
Does anyone know of or has anyone used a dry food dispenser that
drops one or two morsels at preset intervals?
It's no big deal, just wondering if anyone is familiar with that.
Thank you.

What age is geriatric? by
Rhonda
At what age would you call a cat a senior cat? We have a 10 year old
that I'd love to continue to think of as a kitten. I was thinking
though, it might be time for senior blood tests.

Neurological symptoms (wobbly rear legs) in 4-old cat by
223rem
My girlfriends cats suddenly (today) began displaying weakness
and lack of coordination (wobbly walk) in the rear legs. Her
eyes were divergent, and the pupils were very narrow.
These symptoms are intermitent--it happened twice today.
Otherwise, she's fine, she eats and is in a good mood.

Advice needed by
[email protected]
All,
I've been posting recently under the thread "Hyperthyroid cat".
Katie's (age 14) been going through more problems and I need some
advice. She's been extremely finicky and has lost about three pounds.
Her thyroid is stable. The vet saw her today and says she appears to
have IBD. He's put...

Calling experts: store food in original cans or tupperware? by
AlexZ
With only one cat, who is a picky eater too, I often find myself
storing 1/2 a can of cat food in the refrigerator for 1-2 days, has
even strethced to 3 days. I use the original can, closed with tight
fitting lids I got from petsmart/petco.
Discussion in another thread brought up the possibility...

Possible problem with Greenies by
MaryL
CNN has a video report today that says there have been dozens of cases of
life-threatening obstruction in *dogs* (including some deaths) that have
been traced to partially-digested Greenies. The manufacturer denies that
there is any danger, and there was no reference to cats in the report. I

long range discipline? by
Jennyanniedots
My cat has a nasty habit of jumping onto my desk in the middle of the
night and shredding papers. I of course do what I can to keep important
stuff off the desk, but she always manages to find something to shred
or lick. I wake up, yell at her and she jumps off the desk, but within
2 minutes she's...

Meep's OK - for now by
jmc
Last week, Meep was diagnosed with a heart murmur. Also, because she's
had abnormal blood tests before, and tends to have cystitis, and she's
going to spend two months in cattery/quarantine as we move overseas, I
took her in today for a full bloodwork, urine test, and ultrasound.
My wallet is a...

Lick, lick, lick by
jmc
Well, I noticed that since we got Meep back from the vet, she's
continually licking her "underarms" which were shaved for the
ultrasound. I stuck an elizabethan collar on her, in the hope that
she'll forget about the licking if she wears it for a few hours. Is
this a vain hope?
We're in the...

Wild cat by

My sister works for a person who captures stray cats outside his work
place, takes them to get spayed or neutered then releases them back.
This 1 year old he decided to keep and my sister fell in love with it.
He gave it to her. She took it home to try to domesticate it. That was

Diarrhea and then constipation? by

Some of you may remember that my mom's 8 yo female longhair had a sore

in about two weeks.
Well, it's now about three months later and I'm not sure whether...

Reactions to anasthetic. by

"Fluff" is kind of my step-cat - she's about 14 now, recently diagnosed with
hyperthyroidism and a couple of infected teeth. After a week on antibiotics
she had the teeth removed on Monday.
She took quite a long time coming round from the anasthetic, and was quite
unsteady on her feet at first. ...

He is normally an active cat, and with the other cats we have they are kept
moving generally. However, today he laid in the same spot all day. He didn't

being picked up). The most he will do is maybe roll over or lift his...
